Big Band's s.MP's LK + HK makes no noise

No matter how much I press or whatever, the sound just doesn't come out. Don't know if this is intentional or not, but it's just something I noticed.
 
It's the mute key. so if there is a rest in a song and you don't want your horn to fall down for waiting too long you can just press LK+Hk to not make any noise. Think of it as an accordion if you will.
