PS4 Can't use legacy controller to dismiss disconnect message.

Something I just ran into is that I lost connection with an opponent during character select. A message from the PS4 popped up saying "Sorry, you lost connection to the other player." I can not dismiss this message with my arcade stick. I don't know if there is anything that can actually be done about this, as I don't know if PS4 will allow a legacy controller to interact with a PS4 system message.
 
I always keep my DS4 near my fightstick in any event. My Qanba Q2 can dismiss the legacy pop up when I boot the game, weird you can't dismiss the disconnect pop up though.
