Hello & welcome to the CKC thread.
At first glance you may be thinking. "What the hell is CKC" Well that where I come in.

Colossal Kaiju Combat (CKC) is a Daikajiu series of indie games that are currently in production. Which is planning to be release on Steam, & possibly on other platforms.
670

Made by the same team that developed: Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee, Godzilla Save the Earth, & Godzilla Unleashed.
GDAMM & G:STH have received mostly Good reviews, while Unleashed had mixed reviews.

But this time the development team has started a new company: Sunstone Games
Here's a few videos with the leader of the project explaining most of the info of CKC in few minutes: Intro, Kickstarter
But if you want more information or just don't feel like watching the videos. Feel free to continue reading.

Simon Strange, the design director of Kaiju Combat is planning on making CKC not just a few games, but a WHOLE franchise. As of now we are planning 12 different releases of the game in the next 5 years, if everything goes well.

One of the smartest decisions that the team have made is that they are listening to their fans, meaning they have been taking various different requests & suggestions on their forums. (Something a few dozen companies are lacking at)
You can even try & submit your own monster to a & maybe even in a future release.

Let me go over everything you need to know about showing off your kaiju.
First you join our forums. Then you make a new thread & list off it's bio which includes it's height, weight, stats, power, combat style, energy style, backstory & personality. If people think your kaiju is good, they can help sponsor it. Go here to learn about submitting your monster. If your kaiju wins a sponsorship, that can become a card & get a chance to be playable in a future release. (Did I mention you get some sweet artwork of your monster from Matt Frank)

There, now I got the boring stuff is out of the way, lets get on to the Games & the Kaiju.

Our 1st release of Kaiju Combat will be titled Kaiju Battle Land. The 1st version will include 4 playable kaiju (Komododon, Robokomododon, Gigashark, & Magnarok) & 2 arenas. That doesn't seem to be that much, but the kicker is that the game will be 100% free. We plan on releasing it by November of 2014.

Our 2nd release will be The Fall of Nemesis: The Clash of the Kaijuin, this will be the 1st release to have a story, pretty detailed story the focuses on the Greek Goddess Kaiju: Nemesis, as she starts a tournament while 10 different kaiju around the world enter in to fight & beat Nemesis. This game's kaiju will include Nemesis, Ikameijin, Tornqa, Macrosaurus, Katyusha, Tursacra, Duncan, Moratitan, Dragonlotus, Heart Eater, & Lycanoid. FON will be out on Steam either by January or February of 2015, & it will cost $20.

The next few releases will include the fan made monsters. Ex: Solomon, Shadow of RED, Muligahn, The Tri Moloch, & Gaidragon just to name a few.

If Kaiju Combat does well enough there will be some chances of different game releases of different Monster movies, series, & franchises. Like Godzilla, Gamera, Ultraman, Cloverfield, Cthulhu, Stay Puft Marshmallow Man (Simons number 1 choice), Pacific Rim , & even Clifford the Big Red :D But there will be no King Kong since Universal Studios is asking $1,000,000 just for him to be in the game. (It's not worth it) Note: We will not see a Godzilla release for a few year since Toho has given Legendary Pictures the right to make a Godzilla game along with the movie.

If you are more interest on Colossal Kaiju Combat, feel free to join our forums & please help support Kaiju Combat.

Thank you & have nice day :)

Been following CKC since Pat promoed it on 2BFP, super hyped for it
It's good to know your interested.
As of now, I think CKC is doing too well.
Hopefully we'll pick up the pace & do real good when the first 2 releases come out on Steam.

Kaiju* :P

This game needs giant Robots ASAP.
Looks cool, but if it had Gundam or Jaegar like robots also it'd be a day 1 insta buy for me.

I’m a huge Kaiju-Fan, I own most Godzilla movies and some others like Gamera, plus Merchandise (S.H. Monsterarts) and played both Save the Earth and Unleashed. I liked these. But I have really mixed opinions with this game. While it sounds good in theory, and I love the monster ideas and artworks, I don’t believe that this will be a game I would like to play. The developing history seems really strange, they selling merchandise over an unfinished product and I haven’t seen any real gameplay yet. At least not to a point where I would call it a functional game. And there seems so much stuff to be done and added, I fear it will never happen.

Sorry guys, I love me some new awesome Kaiju game again, but I think I’ll pass on this one.

Since I have nothing better to do, here's a list of all the kaiju that are currently confirmed to be playable in a release.
Scroll up to the 1st post for the list.

Wow, I remember talking to some dude about a game similar to this a few years back here in Oregon, he call it Kaiju something (probably Combat), no clue if it's the same game or not but either way it Looks rad!
Enslaver, Ouroborus, Byatha, Hearteater and Dragonlotus all look super dope :D

The original 4 look kinda bland tbh (Especially with the 4th one reminding of a similar character in War of the Monsters lol) but I'll pick up the Fall of Nemesis one with the cool monsters :3

What are the odds of having a playable prototype at EVO?

Thats weird, I always thought Nemesis Prime looks like that:
