Dealing With Projectiles

So, I've just picked up Skullgirls again after a long break, and I hop on quick matches and get destroyed against characters like Peacock, R. Fortune, and even Parasoul all because I find it extremely difficult to push forwards while being hit with projectiles. Any tips for dealing with projectiles? I play Beowulf and Filia.

There's nothing really for dealing with Robo just yet because she's still rather new.
