[Dec 5, 2014] Northeast Championships 15 (NEC) (Essington, PA.)

I'll have to go back and watch the commentary, meant the world to me that the first FGC event I was ever able to go to was NEC and it went this well for the community and was so hype. Good stuff SG guys and gals.

Broseidon Rex: You best be joking about the bed bugs. You 100% sure it was bed bugs and not something else? Because that is serious, they're really hard to get rid of. They can live months without feeding so it's hard to know when you've got rid of them. And their eggs travel well, so anyone in that room could have taken them back home.

Err... besides that, thanks for punching bats. Thanks for bringing the keyboard to make the music face off more hype. Sorry I didn't believe you would beat the hard part of Super Bat Puncher. Here's where you can download Super Bat Puncher. Here's an emulator. It's a legal homebrew rom, for anyone curious. (I didn't make this one.)

Keninblack: The Mario Tennis money match was pretty hype, glad I ran into you right when you headed to that. Then leaving the hotel room when hotel staff were bound to come up from the noise complaint. The winning strats indeed!

WingZero: Was especially cool hearing your conversation with Twerkteam about your thoughts on the east coast scene. Sorry we didn't get to play, I really dropped the ball getting games with west coast players. You seem like a cool dude, though.

Zidiane: Definitely appreciated the cool Bella stuff exhibition. Thanks for giving Smash an honest try.

Negus: Much like Zid, you showed some very interesting things. The way you think around the game is pretty cool.

CloudKing: Thanks for playing some hours with me in both SG and Smash. I especially thank you for playing SG in a way that forces me to learn stuff. Good games all around. That Valentine burst bait you demonstrated in Hops' room was pretty was pretty sick.

NekroSurge: Your local stories were excellent. Thanks for getting me to an SG room on Saturday. Don't have a smart phone and trying to connect to hotel wifi on my 3DS to ask someone in the community was a losing battle. It was really cool meeting you in person.

#fukuatwerkteam: Man, it's a shame you live so far even though same state. Thanks for teaching me some simpler Filia tech to practice. Sorry for keeping your computer out so long when you were trying to pack up.

PrettiestMedic: Is the best in the world with every character in every game.

Hopscawtch: Thanks for being Hopscawtch, and hosting mad people in your hotel room multiple days. Tried some new things twerkteam showed me against you, but nah, you blew through me. I gotta practice.

- @dekillsage Congrats again for putting on a show while running on 15-20 mins worth of sleep. Was pretty bummed by my shit performance but instantly forgot when you won it all.

@Mike_Z Now you may not want to read this, but i really wanted to give you a shoutout.

You're a very patient man, you can be harsh and i liked that. I want to thank you for pursuing your goal to make this game if not the most balanced game then its by far the most fun game to me not only for the gameplay and mechanics but because of the community. Overall i can train to get better at this game AND enjoy the game as well!

when i played soulcalibur 5 and tekken tag 2 the community sometimes was bitter and it felt bad to even win. At some point i didn't find it fun anymore so i chose to remove myself from the tournament scene(not like i got very far in it anyways). This game is different everyone and i do mean EVERYONE in this community that went to NEC was very welcoming, fun, interesting to talk to. and overall whether i got beat by sonicfox or wingzero or sage or zidiane or trickstar, etc it felt fun playing game with them!

and i would like to thank and give a shoutout to the community for the encouragement and support. Thanks to you guys i remember what it felt like to have fun in a tournament and i hope to attend more as skullgirls grows in numbers in terms of: community size, Tournament attendance, and overall appeal for the game. Thank you all so very much.
There were some people that i didn't get to play with but hopefully we'll meet up soon!

I have basically nothing to do with how great the community is (and they are great!), in fact there are people who refuse to play SG because I'm not pandering to everyone like Ono does. The GG and SG (and MvC2, yes really) communities are the nicest people I've met in fighting games.

I just finished watching top 8 and it was great! Well played people! Watching the recap REALLY made me wish I could've been there.

I'm no good at doing individual shoutouts, but much love to everybody I met, hung out, and played casuals with this weekend. It was such a beautiful thing, and I can't wait til the next tournament we all head out to and go wild all over again. Amazing job at getting 45 entrants, and having the tournament run so smoothly. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE. Y'all are the best.

Talking to you about anything is fun, and I am seriously impressed that you managed to get top 32 in marvel at a major. @keninblack I love you, man. You are such a positive force in this community and bring so much energy to every event. Thanks for playing casuals with me, because I learn so much from playing you and have fun at the same time. Thanks for running this whole thing, because I really do understand how stressful being a TO is. I hope you compete in this game seriously again, and I can't wait to see you at EVO.

@Blaise I got to spend some time with you this weekend, but it wasn't enough. I need to get some serious UNIEL lessons from you and talk to you so much more at the next event you attend. @WarpedEcho Man, saying goodbye is hard. It's crazy how our random interests (Magic, Skullgirls, Advance Wars) intersect so perfectly. I know EVO is an unlikely situation for you, and since i'm not planning to attend any east coast tournaments next year that means I may not get to see you for a year or two. I hope someday you can make it over to our side so we can hang out more. Thank you for being such a positive force with me in this game and trying to calm me down during top 8.

@mcpeanuts You're who I look forward to seeing most at events and this time was no different. Talking to you is a ton of fun. Lastly, I actually want to give a shoutout to some people who weren't at the event. @Fuzzy_Snugs @Biz_Casual @Toxicat @Saske @IsaVulpes @Bit_Strife for being so supportive in the stream chat and everything. I have to go to finals so i'll finish these later, but I really do love all of you. I want to write something here for everybody I had an interaction with, and maybe i'll get around to that eventually. Thank you all so much for making my first year of fighting games memorable. I plan on sticking with this game until the grave. At SCR, NCR, and EVO, I plan to prove that my making Top 8 in this game wasn't a fluke.
