DoA Xtreme 3” is in development at 60 frames per second for the PS4 version. The characters are even more stunning than any others in the series. In order to get that extra presence, they might even cross the boundaries of 2D and 3D, at least, that’s what Mr. Hayashi says.
After Dead or Alive 5, there were quite a few people of the opinion that user interest in DoA X3 was fairly low. However, after showing the “softness (yawaraka) engine”,people grew much more interested. At the current time, there’s actually much more interest than anyone expected.
There’s going to be a lot more time put into the development of the character’s facial expressions, looks, and mannerisms. That’s actually why all the female cast couldn’t be added in. We didn’t really want to just leave the decision up to the development staff and alienate the fans, which is why we thought up the theme voting. We wanted a realistic picture of which characters were most popular, and we think we did that with the theme downloads.
The game’s set on Zack Island, so of course Zack will be showing up as well. We’re going to match up with another certain game’s system, and that will end up being a key factor in how the game plays. Look forward to more information on that later.
DoA X3’sskin and body quality will be raised quite a bit. In the previous game, you were able to change swimsuits and tan lines and whatnot, but now we’re moving that up to a whole different level. Just looking at the graphics for the game will set your heart racing, that’s for sure.
In order to make the characters’ presence as great as possible, the development team has been discussing how the characters might even cross the boundaries between the 2nd and 3rd dimensions.
PS4 Version:
60 fps
The volleyball in the game was supposed to be just a “relaxing” kind of casual play, but we have plans to make it into almost a sports game in and of itself.
There are way more shaders on the models than in DoA 5 Last Round, so that also adds to the characters’ appeal.
The system where you can get more swimsuits for certain characters is back, but in addition to just that, we’re also planning on adding a system where the more you play with a certain character you like, the more you can do with them, and the more their interaction with you changes.
We’re currently discussing the feel of the game as being one of those games where you can just space out and play casually after you get home and feel really tired.
We’re currently investigating compatibility with Project Morpheus (recently re-branded as PlayStation.VR).
PS Vita Version:
30 fps
We want to keep the quality as high as possible while still optimizing it for the hardware.
We’d like to include some sort of touch features with the Vita edition as well.
