Hey everyone,
I'm starting a weekly stream of commentated sets between European players in the EU PC Danisen league. The league is open to all skill levels and all formats (go read its thread if you want to know more), but we'll be concentrating on mainly running longer sets (first to 5, first to 7 etc) between mid- to high-level players.
I won't lie: it's basically just an excuse to stream weekly sets between good EU players with commentary. The reasons I'm tying it into the Danisen league are that it means everyone is playing for permanent points that stick around from week to week, it encourages more players to sign up to Danisen and start playing matches, and it gives me a concrete way to stop low level players from constantly demanding to play on stream (but you're both still Dan 1 with 0 points!) without making it some weird closed invitational thing where you have to be friends with the streamer to get on stream. The variable set length means we can mix it up too, by doing things like opening with one or two short sets between up and coming players and ending with longer sets between top players.
But Mr Peck, I hear you ask, what if two great players happen to be in different Dans but they want to play on stream and it would be an interesting set? Or what if a top player wants to play a set on stream using characters other than the ones that they signed up to the Danisen league with? Well, thanks for asking. I'll just call it a grudge match or something and run it anyway. The whole point of this stream is to show regular sets between good European players, so I'll bend the rules to make it happen if it's necessary.
We'll try to pick people in advance to play each week. Maybe doing it in this thread makes sense, like the old Who Y'all Like streams, or you could ask me about it in Steam chat or something. I'm sure we'll end up having to grab people at the last minute a lot of the time, but that's fine.
