The shitty thing about this is
>Go to Combo Breaker
>High turnout
>Can't afford a second trip to EVO so soon after
>Low EVO turnout because can't go to both
>"No one showed up to play SG at EVO it must be dead"
The shitty thing about this is
"you guys"? Don't think that moving to Japan is some kind of valid excuse for not showing up, Shin. :^)
And then? Then EVO won't put it into their lineup again, as they never will anyway. Why care?
I mean look at Smash, they had to pay several thousands of dollars as an active community just to get entrance while Injustice [at the time it recently came out] somehow magically made more space available despite the contrary continually insisted that room was tight. Reason is because Nintendo gives zero interest to support Evo.
Also lol at Wizard change of tune toward Persona. http://kumagawa.tumblr.com/post/29247988904/welp-looks-like-persona-4-arena-wont-make-it-to Atlus or whoever must have whistled a sweet tune in his ear. Highly doubt French Bread would [if it even could] moneyhat into evo.
Unfortunately, I much rather go to EVO where I plan to play multiple games and can't afford both. If they were on opposite ends of the year then maaaaybe I could work something out.Honestly Isa has a point. While Evo is like "the grand finals of the world" (as most people like to call it), it's not like the end all be all of majors.
While we have had people like markman and such help us out, Evo honestly never really is going to give a shit about us, ever.
May as well get high numbers at a major that does actually really care, like Combo Breaker.
Good.. Job?
But Melee is the only game in the Evo 2015 lineup that isn't an inferior/unreleased sequel to another game...
I actually have quite a bit of reasons why I'm not going this year =(
I'm not sure you know what washed up means.
Madcatz/MarkMan is being awesome, but I'm not sure I agree with your sentiment. Showing support for tournaments that support the game is IMO the best thing people can do - that's the key thing, is the tournament itself supporting the game.
Classic games are never washed up, they are forever. Mvc2 200 years from now will still be funner than Mvc3 is today.
Keits has stepped down from running tourneys, but Rick (thehadou) was his right hand man for the past few UFGTs. Rick is the one running Combo Breaker. I believe the brackets will be done by the same person as well.
That won't work unless you can convince 100,000 people not to watch. Plus, encouraging negativity is never the way to go.
I uh. If you really can only go to one thing this year...honestly, I'd make it Combo Breaker provided it's anything like UFGT.
