USA [Feb 17, 2018] The Final Xanadu Monthly - Lock-In! (Arbutus, MD)

A keyboard, eh? Y'know, if I brought one too, we could finally do Typing of the Skullgirls.

I'll be coming around 6 tonight. I'll bring a PS3 and a super tiny CRT for full-poverty mode, so there's that option.

I brought two monitors. If you have an HDMI cord, bring it too, and you can use my spare monitor.

(I am new to SG, not tournies, so if you yell at me about lag, I will cut you.) :3

Welp, looks like I'm inheriting the DMV Skullgirls TO position.

It's cold outside. Come on in and warm up with soaring blood pressure and settle in with the nicest group of players you could ever hope for. And Sharpie.

The Xanadu Monthly starts up around 2:00pm, but us poverty folk will be waiting for things to settle down before starting the Skullgirls tournament at 7:30pm. I'll start signups around 6pm.

I'll be running this on PS3, so no surprises there.

$5.00 buys your way into the most viciously stacked SG local in the country.

The venue is open all day with casuals and tournaments for several fighting games (and more). If you are also into Ultra SF4, Marvel 3, BlazBlue, UNiEL, etc. there is plenty of action for you to get into. The venue usually opens around noon, so feel free to swing by and jump in on some other games, 'cause I can assure you, I probably won't be there before 2:00.

ALSO, this will be KENINBLACK'S LAST XANADU MONTHLY!!! (Assuming he doesn't roll through someday later all alma mater style like KBrad.) Come out and wish him well before he hits I-95 and gets absorbed into the insatiable talent-swallowing beast known as NEW YOUR!!!

When does the store close on this day? Thinking of going because i'm bored and have a car, making sure its worth the drive though
 
Uh its probably not worth the drive at all tbh, buuuut I mean it closes pretty late I guess. Like 12-1 is when I think people start leaving? I usually dip out earlier but I dunno.
 
@cloudKing211 The place is open for around 12 hours during the monthly, but the 8-9 hour round trip from NY is a bit much for a local.

Xan is also not near much of anything. It sits in the middle of an industrial park on the outskirts of Baltimore. If you want to hit up the city during your trip, it could make it worth your while. The natives could help you with that. I'm just a hayseed from western Maryland.
 
Yeah, so I found like $15 in my coat pocket last night, so I have just enough to get up there pay to go 0-2 and then get home to regret my decisions.

Just got confirmation from work that I am off that Friday-Sunday, assuming that I didn't put off for the week after NEC. But was most likely driving myself. Not sure how it'll work yet.

Holy shit, Winter Brawl 9 sure was the best tournament ever, huh?! Shoutouts to your sexy, sexy, attractive, sexy TO that did such an amazing job that he was showered with as much fellatio and free Wawa as he could stand. Go, me!

Well, no rest for DMV. Since ECT decided to be in June and most people have already blown it off like a phone call from an ex that gave them Chlamydia, we gotta make the most of our locals.

The monthly starts at 2pm, with doors opening a little before that. The Xanadu monthly is $10.00 at the door. SG will have signups starting at 6pm with a $5.00 entry. The tournament will start at 7:30pm. Setup(s) will be on PS3.

On the fence? Ultra SF4, Marvel 3, Guilty Gear, UNiEL, Smash, and several other games will be all over the place, so you will NOT be bored. Even some of those 3D games are there.
