Five Nights at Freddy's

Okay, huh,
so, like,
the place closed down
because of the bite of '87,
shortly after your time as security guard, but potentially entirely unrelated,
they scrapped the new robots with the criminal databases, and of course all this happened much after the 5 kids getting killed,
but kept the older ones because they were simpler, and they could be easily rebuilt since they have all those extra heads, but they were also the ones that had childrens inside of 'em
and reopened later with just the original four.

I guess that makes sense, except for the fact that Foxy was in storage at the time, yet should've been responsible for the bite, seeing as that's why his station is out of order in 1.

Mike was the one who killed those kids and was moved to the night shift ironically.

10/10 plot. Riveting.

Source?
?????
???????????????

And why does such an upstanding organization such as Freddy Fazbear's Pizzatoreum LLP have such a clearly demonic object in their possession?

Five Nights at Freddy's 3, play as Mike's father as he discovers the marionette in an ancient cavern that used to belong to devil worshippers, still using a map and lights to survive, still no moving, the same animatronics are STILL there.

Okay this prequel stuff still makes no sense to me, I can only imagine hard trolling or there was oversight in the check given in the end that gives the wrong date but then I think that is something you would have checked before releasing the game.

The game's TV Tropes page.

Take it with a grain of salt if you want.

I meant where's the poster's source of information for saying what he did on the TVTropes page?
I'mmana need that, or at least some kinda line of logic before I believe anything.

So on night 2 of the new game.

The amount of multitasking needed is kind of nuts. I had Freddy staring at me down the hallway, the other two in the vents and the music box needed to be attended to.

Needless to say I did not make it that night.

I don't know enough about 5N 2 to know if Marionette actually is involved with the first game, but with TVTropes being my main internet location hub, I don't care for people putting unconfirmed/headcanon info on the pages, especially when it's policy not to do that <since they have a whole separate section of the site for that and junk>

I think the story was added as an after thought. The game was basically made just to scare the shit out of you. So when they did make the story, it was mostly put together poorly.

I think everything is just placeholder. I mean, This isn't the full second game right?

It is the full second game. Scott decided to release it early after he saw how the Let's Players handled the demo (and how long it would take for the demo to be approved on IndieDB).

How? You can't just finish a game because people played the demo. Wasn't the release date next year?

Well ya got me there.

In unrelated news that isn't even news, this is the shortest gap between game sequels I have ever seen.

I mean, the surprise prequel thing may not have been the most well thought-out, but all it really means is that Freddy Fazbear's is older than we thought.
The animatronics that we dealt with in the first game were the originals, just rebuilt later after the 'new' Foxy model bit some guys head off, while being controlled by some unknown supernatural entity.
Then they closed down the shop, waited a while, rebuilt the originals on the cheap, and re-reopened it.
I think the most pressing question about the lore at this point is 'what the hell is the marionette?', 'why the hell is it possessing the animatronics?', and, most interestingly, 'why is it attracted to the music box?'.
I honestly love the new change in plot direction, because it means more lore for me to completely over-analyze and pick apart.

Sort of what I'm thinking at this point. If the way the sequels will work is the way I think they will work (by that I mean, the Zelda way) then more likely then not people will learn when Scott makes Five Nights 3, which will probably (if I had to guess) be set in this "Fazbear's Family Diner" place.

That seems like a pretty likely assumption to me.
And that means that we'll get more info on this guy stuffing kids into the suits, which is the second most mysterious of the story as of now.
But it might also mean we don't get more stuff about the Mannequin, the first most mysterious part about this game.
But also, no bad stuff was happening before the suit-stuffing occurred, which might make for a boring game.
I really have no idea what the fucks going to happen in the third game (Assuming that there even is one); probably something crazy.
Which is what I like, because crazy means crazy lore, and I love picking apart crazy lore.

I don't know. In one of the calls, apparently, the guy on the phone mentions that, as a result of the investigation of the restaurant, the people who run the restaurant and their staff were trying to get in contact with the owner of the original restaurant, the family diner, and that they couldn't get a hold of him. So, by the time the events of FNaF 2 happen, the original owner was missing.

All I'm saying is, it could be relevant.

I am loving the shit out of the lore in FNaF 2

I know, right? It's sooooo crazy, it's amazing!
Like, when I thought of a sequel (Or a prequel), haunted mannequins and ghost-possession weren't exactly high on my predictions list, but now that I have them, I don't know why they wouldn't be!

That is very interesting, actually.
He couldn't be the murderer, the murderer was found.
Could he have been the one to unearth the Mannequin?
Also, why was Fazbear's Family Diner closed in the first place? Was it ever mentioned in Phone Guys calls (I haven't exactly committed them to memory yet)?
Does that have something to do with the Mannequin?
God, we just got so many new questions!
But seriously, though, why is some eldritch abomination who possesses robots to eat peoples brains attracted by a music box?
I don't know anything, and I love it!

I wanna mode where you play as the animatronics and it kinda plays like Fire Emblem.

I never knew that I wanted a spoopy remix of the FE battle themes.
But I really want a spoopy remix of the FE battle themes.

Something to point out on Night 5 for you guys wondering whether it's a sequel or prequel.

Hello? Hey, good job, night 5! Um hey, keep a close eye on things tonight, ok? Um, from what I understand, the building is on lockdown, uh, no one is allowed in or out, y'know, especially concerning any...previous employees. Um, when we get it all sorted out, we may move you to the day shift, a position just became...available. Uh, we don't have a replacement for your shift yet, but we're working on it. We're going to try to contact the original restaurant owner. Uh, I think the original place was "Fredbears Family Diner" or something like that. It's been gone for years though! I doubt we'll be able to track it down. Well, just get through one more night! Hang in there! Goodnight!"

Halp. 2Spooky.

So, our current idea for the FNaF timeline is something along the lines of:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Fazbear's Family Diner created, along with the original Bots.
-The murder of the five kids at FFD.
-FFD closed down due to the odor and health concerns.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------Some time during this, the Mannequin is found or made.
/-FFD reopens as Freddy Fazbear's pizza, with new Bots.
/-The Mannequin gives the bots life and takes control of them.
(These two's order could be switched)
-Jeremy Fitzgerald is hired for the night shift, a position opened up after the first was moved to the day shift.
-Cue FNaF 2
--Fitzgerald is fired
--(Day shift man's frontal lobe is bitten off by Foxy, under control of the Mannequin) - Possibly speculation.
-FFP is closed down due to the 'Bite of 87'
-A few years later, it has it's grand reopening, with the original FFD bots rebuilt on the cheap (No facial recognition).
-Mike Schmidt is hired as the new night watch.
-Cue FNaF 1
--The Mannequin is no where to be found, though some speculation states that it might be what resides in the kitchen.
--Phone Guy is killed.
--Mike Schmidt is fired.
End of what we know
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Am I missing anything?

Isn't it implied that the kids getting killed happened like, during the same week and just before The Bite?
Like, I think the fifth night phone call in 2 says an employee in a yellow Freddy costume lured some kids backstage and did, you know
the thing.

This timeline seems to make sense, although this does highlight a problem with making prequel where stuff is added in the preqeul but there is not mention of it before the prequel, referring to the totally doesn't look like no face from spirited away mannequin by the way.

My reasoning for this is that Fazbear's Family Diner had to have been closed for some reason, and that was the only point in the cannon that hasn't had a solid date attached to it yet.
Also, I don't recall the phone call in 2 that referenced the 'yellow Freddy suit'. The only thing day 5's phone call states is that the place is on lock-down and that they are trying to contact the original owner, not that the children were being killed.

Well, that's Bonnie, possibly undergoing some kind of graphical bug, or maybe just because she's in the dark.
Or it may be some form of super-secret no one knows about, I have no idea.

I think that thing is like a hallucination that seems to be rare and happens randomly.

That is absolutely terrifying.
Fuck, man, just the picture was spooky, but knowing it happens randomly?
That is the true hor-or
