I want this to be what Scott Cawthon is remembered for.
Not the pretty decent game trilogy
BUT THE FACT HE IS LITERALLY INCAPABLE OF RELEASING A GAME ON TIME.
The fucking book even released early, and that wasn't even his fault, the universe demands his shit come out early.
He released a game early, wasnt satisfied with it despite high ratings, so is fixing it to give it back to us for free.
Its a pretty freaking good deal, considering he's also giving free refunds to everyone who ever bought it, and those who were to poor to pay up front (like me, -sob-) will get a chance to play the updated version.
I had a very brief time with the game and it just seemed super average in sort of lacking in some areas. The battles are real time "action bar" style but you can't even see how long it will take for a character to be able to perform their next action. On top of that, I had absolutely no idea what any character's attack even did until I tried it out once in a battle. If there was some way to check that before hand, it wasn't super clear.
ALSO LOAD TIMES FOR OPENING AND CLOSING THE MENU REALLY SUCKED
Five Nights at Blank?
I'm actually fine with the concept of Five Nights at ____________________
Being a thing
Maybe it won't even be horror and you spend Five Nights managing a business?
Five Nights at Cawthorn's
it's a ___ Tycoon game where you pump out Freddy game after Freddy game, the strategy being in how often you make them and by how much you break the release date by
I don't know if I'm glad or disappointed that we're headed back to the standard formula.
It was nice for Scott to branch out into colorful RPG's and books and stuff, I just wish he ventured more outside of this particular IP.
Could there have please only been one? Pleeeeeeease? This is as obviously milking it as its ever been. This is bordering on Friday the Thirteenth levels of sequel concepts. Is the Freddy animatronic going to get shipped to space? Maybe take a dip in some radioactive ooze? God.
Did the child-murderer also have a sister
I mean, how's he gonna explain spooky fun-times now
I'm kinda half-hoping for the half-arsed excuse of "built on top of an indian burial ground"

My favorite spin on that fucking trope is from South Park
"You built this on top of an Indian Burial Ground?"
"No, I dug up the graves, pissed on the bodies, buried them back upside down, and then built this on top of an Indian Burial Ground!"
