Okay, gentlemen & ladies, here's the deal:
Because he's just a Cadillac of a man, @BrandX+ has been the go-between for myself & SIG. Since the ultimate goal is make NEC the biggest event for this game outside of Combo Breaker, we want to have as many top players as possible. SIG took 3rd at EVO and that's no small feat. Furthermore, being able to actually bring over an international player by our own doing would send a message of the SGC's dedication to the idea of community. For anyone interested, here's the link:

As of this posting, we already got $90. I donated $50 this afternoon and I will continue to do so every few days (basically whenever I get paid) from now until Nov 1st. On top of that, Kick-Punch-Block will be making a lump sum donation in due time. (I don't know when or how much just yet... they're working that out among themselves.) We're also going to use any money that exceeds the stretch goal to add to NEC's pot bonus.
Not only is this very doable, but -- if I can be frank -- I see it as a win/win. If everyone who competed at SJ9 dropped in ten bucks, we'd already be halfway there. Just imagine what we as a united community can do once we're all on the same page... let's give the Northeast FGC a show like they didn't even know existed!
