haha yeh, CT and CS always get mixed up for me... Hopefully they see all the other japanese/ fighting games hitting PC/ Steam, and change their minds about not releasing their games on PC anymore.
 
I just downloaded guilty gear off of psn and i'm wondering if anyone is willing to help a new player out. I've already played persona 4 arena and blazblue so i'm not a complete noob to the mechanics of this game. I played platinum in BB and teddie in P4 and the characters that I want to play in gg are Faust and Bridget but any character that plays simliar to platinum and teddie would be fine. Thanks in advance :)
 
If you really want a Platinum or Teddie-like character in Guilty Gear, stick with Faust. A little warning, however: his item toss is completely random, unlike Teddie's, which goes in a set pattern.

Those are earlier versions of their respective series, meaning GGXrd may just end up on PC.

Too bad the 4 other revisions after it probably won't. :confused:

To me, Plat is like a mix of Faust and May.

Depends on what he liked more about Plat, the mixups and item threat, or the damage and solid play.

Yeah from the Pachinko machine.

Like the future redesigns though, especially Bridget and Dizzy.
 
so they're from a pachinko machine but the designs are more than a year old and some totally match up with what's been seen in Xrd?

this is so mysterious :confused:
 
I hope they take inspiration from some of those designs for Xrd. Some of them would look great in that game. They seem to have already tweaked those designs for May, Ky, and Chipp, as well as lift some ideas (like Milia's head-license plate... thing) from them.
 
I actually really like Johnny and Slayer's design. Johnny looks more like a pirate now.

i really like both of dizzy's designs, but i'm partial to her queen dress from GG2. :D

Shorts Axl and Long Jeans Axl are both cool in their own right. With shorts, he looks fiercer and more of a combatant - and with jeans, he looks more like an ordinary guy.

That being said, I wound up liking Axl because of his cowardly, laid back, ordinary guy style.
 
when the FUCK is +R coming out on american consoles. jesus christ so stupid i wanna play it already...i stopped playing ggac because th epatch was incoming. but it never came lol i miss my zappa :(

and as for xrd.. lets not be silly here, the cast of ggac are ALL incedibly good and should ALL be returning in the new game. They should have all the old charcaters with like 5 or so new ones and i'll be happy
 
The great part about it being in 3D is that they can easily have alternate costumes, so everyone wins
 
I just want Bridget and slayer to be in. As for alternate costume, I want a president Chipp outfit.

Not that anyone asked: My theory on the reason as to why they went with the name Xrd is because "Guilty Gear XXX" sounds like some hentai thing. But, I'll always call it Guilty Gear XXX ;)

And I'm going to be super excited for it IF it comes out for pc.
I only own a PS2 haha
 
Funny, I spotted this thread mere moments after locating my PS1 copy of the original Guilty Gear.
 
All of my mains are yet to be announced (Faust, ABA and Bridget). As for the alternate costumes, Platinum Bridget just makes me shiver with just the thought, though it would still be funny. I wonder how Crow will play a part of the game if any (maybe he could be a puppet character or have similarities to Kokonoe's play style if playable) seeing that he was in almost everyone's story in AC+

I'm happy since Venom is in. I haven't played Guilty Gear a huge amount - I tried learning AC but it's kind of hard without a PS3 release in the UK - but I think he's a pretty fun character.
However, if there's any proper GG players in this thread, could you make me a recommendation? I've always enjoyed the mid-screen footsies aspect of FGs, and although Venom has a bit of that (more in terms of screen control, really) I was wondering if there is a character who emphasises it in their gameplay.

I am really not liking a few of the redone proportions for a few of the characters.

I liked it when i-no and may looked a little more realistic and a little less silly
 
So, May swung an anchor before and she swings it still, but somehow she started looking unrealistic and silly just now?

I think it's just the character art that makes them look worse than they actually are. I remember loosing my shit when I saw Potemkin's art, with it's minuscule head, over-sized feet, and arms that looked way too big even for Potemkin. Then I saw him in game and calmed down after seeing that his proportions where still same as they ever where. The faces in these character arts are also quite... off. The in-game models look a lot better imo.

Wait, Potemkin's in this game? And here I thought that was the fruit of a beautiful yet forbidden love between Panzerfaust and that metal armor dude from Fullmetal Alchemist.

It looks like she REGRESSED in age even though this is the furthest set Guilty Gear, time wise.

I just don't like I no's weird face pose and butt in that shot.

Axel's new design it's the only that I actually like... I hope they don't screw up Baiken and Dizzy
 
Yeah, I was upset over Pot's costume change too. It's mostly about the fact that his face is no longer visible (and did they really need to make him look that similar to Alphonse with that kettle helmet?) and how dumb those shoes of his look. I know the change is probably cause he's kinda supposed to be dead at this point in the continuity, and the Zep government probably pulled a "6 million dollar man" to revive him or something. Hopefully since the game is 3D they can have alternate costumes.

At least they left Venom alone. I fear a bit for what might become of my other mains if/when they get revealed (Zappa, ABA, Faust, Testament).
