Robo-Fortune Headrone RAM firing backwards

If Robo-Fortune crosses to the other side of the opponent, and uses headrone RAM before the heads have crossed over as well, then the head will fly off towards Robo-Fortune's back and away from the opponent.

I tried to replicate this in the retail game as well, but was unable to do so.

Edit: It's possible to replicate in retail, but it's harder. Was able to do it with a fullscreen dash jump over the opponent.

Oh, is that how that works?

I've noticed it too.
Sometimes the heads just take off the in the opposite direction.
"Off it goes, apparently!"
