Help me pick a starting main?

Hey, My name's Levia The Tempest. I just started playing Skullgirls 2 days ago, and I need some help. Who do you guys think I should main? I already now that I can play Squigly rather well, but I need some help choosing other characters to complement her.

Just start solo. I can't remember how many dozens of hours I just played Filia. I only added Parasoul once I felt comfortable with learning a combo for her. At that point I didn't even start utilizing assists in neutral or offense properly, I still haven't really used them in combos...
