Heroes of the Storm

Tried lucio in ptr and hes so fun, glad my main from overwatch is just as fun in hots

I might actually blow 15,000 gold on Lucio.

He seems godlike.

Also, I only own like 2 or 3 supports, so diversifying my portfolio a bit might be good.

He has a ton of potential as a support, im excited

And suddenly i feel like i should play again

He seems to be a mix of some set-up characters and defense, not exactly what most people thoguht a Builder Unit would be like, but it's a start, you got built Pylons and cannons so maybe one day we'll get that SCV or Peon Hero

I was worried about Gems, since they're basically swapping out real money for Riot Points, which I have complained about in the past, and seeing that you can only use gems on FEATURED skins, you can't pick and choose, that's the one thing I'm very worried about.
But then again, who buys Skins piecemeal anymore? You wait for sales, or you get a bundle, they probably noticed this.

The new hero seems like she'll either be really bad, or too good.

We'all have to see. I'm not a fan of how only one of her abilities allows her to blind the opponent, but maybe her talents will change that.

3 forms of currency is overkill. Gold is fine, shards I'm good with too, but gems are too inconsistent. I hated that system with LoL, I always ended up with a small amount I can never use.

Gems are basically Riot points, you turn your money into them but you can get them naturally, shards is basically coins from Overwatch, this is so far pretty good.
2.0 is looking graet but Reddit pointed something out.
Master skin requirements are gone.
Anyone can get a Master Skin now, regardless of how much they played, you could've never played Lucio then WOOP YOU GOT MASTER LUCIO (if you own him)
Understandably, a lot of people are being vocal about this, so this could change to you only needing to be a certain level to use them (I wouldn't mind them being easy to get if you just have a level requirement to use it)

Hopefully the loot box rewards will balance everything out. At least there will be a ton of loot once this goes live.

You can get upwards of 70 boxes depending on the characters you have leveled up, just be sure to not go too above, because it does cap at 70 boxes for retroactive rewards, sooo maybe take a break until 2.0 Patch drops.
Sadly, all shader/color things are now skins and drop like basic skins in Overwatch, but if you own the hero (or skin) you can keep the shader colors you had forever.

Again, mostly I'm worried about the Master skin situation, hopefully Blizz listens and finds a way to keep Master skins a reward for being dedicated to a character

One of the neater things added to this update skin-wise were that a bunch of characters got some skins that are minor-touch ups from regular skins, as in, they are based on another skin but have something really cool added to make it worth it
These include Chen Stormstout (With his hat on), Sylvanas WoW Legion design, Artanis with Zeratul's saber, a better High Templar Zeratul (executor), and even includes a God King Leoric skin (upgraded version of Vkyrul Leoric)

So,

Are we just not gonna talk about the new hero?

I just want Stukov man Q_Q

She looks pretty boring and not very rule-breaking, soooo...
Nope.
I mean,

She looks like she hard counters a lot of characters.

I thought that that would be discussion worthy.

I'm usually wrong about judging MOBA characters, I usually wait until they have been out awhile to see theory in action. At first I didn't like Valeera, but she is very fun to play.

I gotta say, if there is a MOBA that makes me salty, its this one. Game feels inconsistent tbh and the way exp is handled just never felt...right...

also I hate about half the maps in the game and wish I could filter them out of the quick match...Why do I keep playing this game again? Oh yeah, Tychus is fun af.

Then you're gonna hate the new girl.

Oh god her kit looks like total bullshit. Reminds me of Alarak but as a tank

So on the roadmap of planned reveals between now and mid-May, two things caught my eye
"Nexus Challenge 2.0" Me and Dunk got some more work to do
annnnnnnd.
"New Program"
What the fuck does that mean?
Like... new program the game uses? like a new recording program?
Or new program as in a learning experience/thing people do

"New Program"
What the fuck does that mean?
Revising the haunted mines again? Separate haunted mines game mode?

People (me included) felt like earning one locked you into the skin to show your experience with the hero. Also, a lot of older master skins were garbage.
To show character prestige now, the character taunt will be changed to reflect the level.

I don't care anything about cosmetics and have 300k gold, so the update doesn't really mean anything for me. I get that being no longer able to buy skins directly is going to suck, but this update is pretty much a boon for people who don't spend any money on the game otherwise. I have only spent $4.99 in this game ever, own 26 heroes, and I'm happy with the way the game plays now.

I saw that that was apparently the reason why they decided to undo it, and when you think about it, it's true, you might have Big Top Gazlowe but be like "awww man, I guess I gotta use this master skin to let people know I mean business" and use the Master skin instead, not very fun.

I've only really bought things when they were on sale, even when i came close to paying full price it usually eventually got saled.
To this day the only bundles I ever got were Ragnaros launch bundle and the Monkey King Samuro one

I'm just kinda bummed, now I wanna play but it's wiser to wait until 2.0 drops so I don't miss out on any potential loot boxes.

what Im just confused on is if they're giving away these loot boxes, you do still get to keep all the shit you already had, right?

You keep everything you had, for example, if you had a character before, regardless of their level, you'll have their 3 original tints, and if you had a skin or mount, you get to keep their tints/variations, but any NEW tints/variations added with 2.0 you won't get for free.
You get up to 70 retroactive loot boxes depending on your level.

I love how NO ONE is discussing the new Diablo character.

The people that complained about Blizzard not caring about Diablo have finally shut up.

Honestly, she's cool but doesnt feel like she has the same aesthetic as the other diablo characters. That and i hate her kit.

I was still expecting to get stukov before her but oh well...

Still want Kyle Blackthorne. He's like the only other blizzard classics character they got.

The rumor mill says that Genji might be next.

I mean, I doubt it.

But, you know.

Just FYI.

Apparently the French Site says the one after next Hero is a "Heroine", so people are thinking D.va
That works too.

Okay.

So the official rumor is Genji, then D.Va.

Do you guys think that Genji will be an Assassin, or do you think he'll be in as a Specialist?

Ain't clickin' that.
Hoping it was a goof and it'll be a surprise in 2 weeks.

Also, Cassia launched today, play her if you want, if you plan on buying her, things still apply to her.
If you buy her even with gold, you'll still get all her tints (same if you buy her skin)
If there's a mount you've been eying (Say, Amani War Bear), you'll prob wanna buy it before the 18th so you can get all the tints.

I played Cassia.

She really seems to shine when she's in teamfights. Her best qualities are her pokes and her AOE Blind.

Fend is decent. I just wish I could do it to anything.

Lightning Ball doesn't seem good right now.

If the Next hero after the next one IS a Heroine, what if it's not an Overwatch character?
What if it's a Diablo character?
... What if it's Leah?
You can hear some voice clips from Leah in the Prime Evil Diablo skin, and Diablo even has a line ("There's no escaping your Destiny, Leah" ) in the files.
So clearly they're at least planning Leah.
