I Feel like i wasted my money

just for refrence it took me about 10-12 hours to learn my first combo and about 50 to get into resets and really master a character
No offense, but that seems on the really low side for mastery. I would say more than that as a solo, so that you can understand everything your character has and the situations it deals with.

Hello! It's awfully easy to be mean to new people, but let's not make any assumptions. A TRULY new person to fighting games that is willing to help improve things is rare.

i did not need a google search for things like "LP,MP,HP,LK,MK,HK" as the tutorial clearly told me what they were, "K" however was not covered in the tutorial, is not listed in the controls menu and google searches yielded nothing to elucidate what "K" meant, thus why im posting here.
[snip]
thats the thing, you would think that after about an hour on a tutorial i would finally get the execution down right? nope. because the game did not tell me what "K" is as mentioned, it was not until i posted on here that i actually found out what it meant.
You know what? This is a good point! We never explain that LK, MK, and HK are all Kicks. It is obvious once you know there's a convention, but it probably should be explicitly mentioned somewhere. I'll see if we can't change it to do so. (A few screens later we sort of explain that LP MP HP are all Ps.)

well yes after launching the game after posting i found the move set pages, and said disagrams buuuutt... why isnt that in the tutorial? is it because it was patched in after release? couldnt they change the tutorial? couldnt they of explained a "Quarter Circle" in a previous lesson BEFORE telling me to execute a moving using one? i dont know, i still feel its quite sloppy to the point of me having to create this post in the first place and ask for help.
Here's the first screen that mentions Special Attacks or QCB/QCF in any fashion:

It tells you you can find moves lists on the pause menu.
The move itself is explained pretty thoroughly and exactly, and the lesson doesn't even let Filia move so you don't have to worry about which side you're on.
The screen also says "do Down, Down-Left, Left+K" after this while waiting for you to do it.

Aside from the "K" thing, how would you present that information differently?

I get that this is your first fighting game, so you have nothing to compare it to. I'd ask you to try the tutorial in anything else and point out differences. People aren't kidding when they say SG's tutorial is a huge step above any other game (with the possible exception of xBone KI). Street Fighter x Tekken is pretty cheap now and has a fairly lengthy tutorial in terms of fighting game tutorials, maybe give that a shot for comparison? It's more money, though.

I have seen people look at this screen, which tells you to input 214, and input the move as 25154. Players new to fighting games don't necessarily understand right away that it's supposed to be one smooth motion. I think the :QCB: symbol is clearer, personally. What would be REALLY amazing is if the tutorial could detect the user inputting 25154 and pop up a message explaining that's not how you do it, but that's probably way too much.

Isn't that what lesson 3 says though? I don't remember how to take steam screenshots, so I'll quote. "All characters have six Normal' attacks: Light Punch, Medium Punch, Hard Punch, Light Kick, Medium Kick, and Hard Kick. From here on, these will be referred to as :LP:, :MP:, :HP:, :LK:, :MK:, and :HK:, respectively."

Ignore the lack of background I have it this way for hitbox screenshots. anyway I figure mike meant that they don't mention that they are all a type of "K"

So moral of the story:
-Do the tutorial, don't quit it before you can learn
-The tutorial explains things
As a first timer to fighting games I can confirm that this tutorial was actually very thorough and simple to learn. Its design is, in fact, not bad.

Also, props to the Skullgirls community for being quite helpful to someone who was being nothing but rude in their first post.

by "master" i mean can combo most moves into each other, and i know when to do restands and resets and stuff

getting in, though, is a completely different deal.
Oh okay never mind I've mastered every character in the game then I don't feel so bad.

That's nowhere near mastering a character. Combos are only a small part of the equation.

I was just reminded of this thread. Someone said something about Guilty Gear once, I think.
You think there are any misunderstandings that can come from something worded like this?

The Fafnir one is better actually, it also adds in "like in a semi-circle motion" but I ain't about to share another ps4 screenshot.

What's wrong taking screenshots?

Because I have to share it via twitter and then link it here, and it logs me out of one place to log into the other.
