I hope it goes without saying that you block by holding back.
I don't think this guide has anything on Alpha countering.
It's just tag 1 (mp+mk) or tag 2 (hp+hk) and forward. It costs one meter to do and switches your character out for one of your other characters (but they also do their assist attack)
Another thing to note is that sg is a reset heavy game so you must never lose your eye on the enemy. You must learn their patterns in order to be able to block the enemy so I guess defense comes with playing the game.
I've been playing skullgirls off and on for what I'd like to say 4 months. Most of the stuff in the guide come naturally but it also reminded me of some of what I know from general experience.
In all the time I've been playing I guess I haven't been paying attention to the reset patterns of most characters, so that's what I'll start doing.
1. Improve my neutral game, generally actually paying attention to what's going on and not just flailing around with hp
2. Work on my confirms, when I land a real good shot I usually don't even execute a combo I know pretty well or I'll wind up doing less damage than I could have.
