Indivisible: Lab Zero's Action-RPG! (General Discussion)

There's still the possibility (and actual likelihood) that there will be playable Incarnations that weren't announced in the campaign. NO IDEA how many, or when, or ANY details beyond that, so don't kill yourselves speculating.

the Incarnations revealed, are all subject to change

Yes

not even appear in the final game.

No

I will cling to hope that Musashi MacLeod will one day be able to rise to the occasion, but honestly, L0 has gone above and beyond with making each character's designs and abilities unique that I can't be bothered to actually be bothered by Musashi's absence.
There's already a bunch of teams that I wanna make and that's pretty radical!

You do know that Trigger started making animation for games before doing their own IP's, right?

They made the intro for Project X Zone before working on Little Witch Academia.
But that was before. Art style doesn't regress to how it was years ago. Just look at Araki or any other artist/animator that has been drawing/animating for years.

If you could actually die from Over Speculating the internet would be a barren wasteland by now.

I mean except for the porn.

They're super angular, hard edges
I think Mako from Kill la Kill is pretty much the antithesis of this. If TRIGGER was MysteryStudioX, they would knock this out of the park.

Also congratulations to LabZero as well as everyone else who donated!

I think the Scot ninja will be the final reveal, that way all the incarnations from the first trailer from AX will have been shown off. It seems the incarnations that unlock new weapons for Ajna aren't playable directly, so I don't think Kusarigama Guy or Robin Hood guy will be the final reveal. Maybe Crusty Whistler is our axe weilder or spear thrower.

I'm just figuring there are a few party members that wouldn't be revealed until the game is out because:
1. The game's story isn't 100% set in stone this early.
2. There are probably spoiler party members related to any plot twists that may be planned.

I'm genuinely confused at what does this have to do with anything.

If TRIGGER were to animate the Indivisible opening, it would be in their art style (think Kill la Kill or Little Witch Academia) not in the style they had before those.

Question:
Will Incarnations still "Float" for their battle run animation like in the Proto or was the "Float" a time cutter to push the proto out the door? Either way is cool

Kinda late, but eh

From the updates

Lab Zero is incredibly thankful for your support, but so is 505 Games!

Here's a short letter from Ian Howe, the President of 505 Games USA.

I want to say a huge thank you to each and every person who has contributed to this campaign, in addition, I wanted to acknowledge the huge amount of effort from so many of you who have taken the time to try and convince others to contribute, or have reached out to various channels to try and achieve more coverage for the prototype and the game.

We are truly humbled by your support for the project and we’re incredibly excited that we will be able to see it become a reality. We have been talking to Peter and the team at Lab Zero for a long time trying to find a project to work on together and through your incredible contributions, support and energy we are now able to make that happen.

From reading the comments here, I know sometimes even the smallest contributions have to be carefully considered and I also know that some of you have really gone above and beyond in the levels of support you’ve given. We do not take this for granted and we will do everything possible to make sure that we repay that with a great game.

I can also tell you that a lot of us from 505 Games were sitting in front of our screens last night hitting F5 watching the contributions come in as we neared the goal, I’m not afraid to admit that there are a few of us who’ve become a bit obsessed with this over the past couple of weeks!

Now that we’ve reached the goal, the hard work truly begins in making Indivisible become a reality and we will be working very closely with Lab Zero in the coming months to make sure that they have everything they need to truly deliver on the vision for the game.

We hope you enjoy the bonus games that we were able to contribute to the campaign and we would love to hear your continued feedback on Indivisible,

Sincerely,

Ian Howe

President – 505 Games

Yeah, and?

The point I was making is that Trigger in not unfamilliar with the "round" designs of indiv. Or are you telling me that every single artist L0 contracted to make the DLC's has the exact same style as Ahad?

Because that would be silly

I'm not even advocating for Trigger to be the Mystery Studio (I would prefer it to be BONES), I'm just saying that the reasons given for why them would be a poor fit are wholy unsatisfactory.

I believe L0 stated that they don't want to stretch goals like "more Incarnations" and "more areas" because they want the base game to have everything gameplay-wise.

EDIT: Actually there is a quote from Mike Z saying that 3 posts above mine. :P
Ravid said in the gaf thread they're looking towards extended ng+, different endings, and something like the seraphic gates from vp as stretch goals.
Game play stuff was on the table just none was essential to the game and would be post game dlc.

Additionaly, from what I know, every decent artist can immitate a style properly if he tries hard enough. So I don't really think the animated intro would be that staringly different.

I mean look at Skullgirls. It's not like one person animated everything in it with his VERY distinct style...

I didn't follow the discussion but wouldn't the animation studio be responsible for, you know, the animation? What does this have to do with the artstyle?

think Kill la Kill
That's not a good thought, the style of KLK encompasses nearly everything I dislike about anime.

Also, I just want to say I'm sorry for doubting and being pessimistic at first. I'm so glad and happy Indivisible is funded, and man, was I worried! I pledged 30 at first, but after a while, I decided to upgrade it to the digital tier, and put some extra 5 bucks cause my job as a teacher isn't exactly well paid (being an English teacher in Mexico isn't an easy job, economically speaking). Now I'm going to save money until I can get that Roti plushie.

I haven't seen any of their recent works that would make me think otherwise.
EDIT: Going through the shorts they made for the Animator Expo, the only ones I see that look remotely different from their usual stuff are Bureau of Proto Society and Power Plant No.33, both of which were co-produced with Studio Rikka.

I wouldn't blame you. It was looking pretty grim for a while.

Poor Ajna it's allready a little too late for her. Since the Indiegogo started there were... questionable pictures of her... and others.

How would you know that Ninja?! HMM?!! D:<

Opposite with me. Looks 10x better than most of the shit japan has been crapping out of their ass lately (except one punch man, that looks pretty good)

Honestly trigger or bones would be pretty good choices

In b4 ZONE makes an awful flash "game".

What would usual even mean when they have a grand total of 2 IPs and a third one on the way and the rest being contracted works where they have to adhere to a dictated style?
Well, 3 IPs if you count Inferno Cop and 2 self-made shorts.
I have to admit I forgot about When Supernatural Battles Become Commonplace because it was so terrible, but that was in line with how the series' art style is, so I'll give you that.

I'd rather not continue this any further because it doesn't help this thread at all.

<Looks at countless posts in the "Help Advertise Indivisible" thread, Reddit, and Tumblr content.> No, no worries here at all, was totally confident, yep, not one bit of stress, utterly calm and positive the entire time. Why is smoke coming from my pants?

Really, really glad they made it. Well done, everyone!

That is uncannily similar to the situation here. Except the job in Mexico part and the timing of squeezing out budget for the plushie tier.

I think ZONE's already promised Zone-tan in the pelt if it got made. No word on a game similar to Fillia's, although people've asked.

Maybe it would be easier to build hype to fund the stretch goals if we had some details about what this extra music would be used for like "character themes for the entire cast!" or "super elaborate centerpiece theme for the intro with lyrics!" or some kind of description along those lines.

"More music by this composer who's already making music for the game" I feel is kind of difficult to be excited about or market to other people.
Well they did make it less vague from the twitter post when they actually put the update details on the IGG site
$1,650,000 - Another HOUR of Music by Hiroki Kikuta

Indivisible is currently budgeted to have between 60 and 90 minutes of music from Kikuta-san, and we’d like to expand that by at least another hour. That's DOUBLE the amount of music!

That actually doesn't sound bad since this will be a noticeable improvement music wise. Also it was already confirmed music formula wise it would be similar to how KH did it.

Also at this point there isn't much room to market to other people short of introducing even more guest characters or add more platform ports [which won't happen anytime soon] so it's better since they are funded now to appease those they already have backed.

Preeeetty sure that if ZONE intended to make a nsfw Indivisible game at any point, it would already exist by now.

After all, a thing like that generates publicity. Since it didn't happen in the time when exposure was needed the most (=the IGG campaign), it's probably not in plans.
