To clarify: I really enjoyed SG at EVO last year and would totally go this year if possible. It's just not in the cards this time around.
 
Due to my therapy and such, I won't be able to attend evo this summer.

I don't know! We briefly talked about it internally but I don't know if anything was set up.

Also they usually sell it on their site too, so you probably wouldn't have to find someone to proxy for you.
 
I ended up not being able to make it out to combo breaker because of school, so maybe?

Hopefully I get time off work to attend this. This would turn out to be my first tourney and local, so I'm pretty excited after having stuff keeping me from attending combo breaker

We can proooobably have an Xbox360 or two set up to run matches on, but top 16 and on will likely be on a Sony console only. May I ask why you prefer 360? I'm guessing you play on a 360 pad.
 
I don't play 360 pad but isn't it pretty easy to get an adapter to use 360 pad on ps3? @Zephyrel didn't you used to use 360 pad? Or did you only use 360 pad when playing on PC?

Yeah, I play on 360 pad, I mostly play on 360 because the 360 controller is more comfortable than the playstation controller. But if you can't bring it, it's alright, I'll tough it out. :)
 
So any one still interested in evo? I missed combo breaker, may be able to go to evo but I might just save and got to both next year. No room sharing thread for evo yet?
 
I take my yearly trip to visit family in vegas around the same week as Evo, so I don't have to worry about rooming or other expenses since i can just crash with them. Due to my lack of interest in FG's last year however I didn't attend but it is a definite yes this year. Hopefully i can get used to playing on something other than a keyboard before it rolls around, otherwise I might have some trouble.
 
I've been considering taking a greyhound to evo to live the desertbus experience.

Gotta flesh everything out before I make any decisions though.

Edit: Wait what everything except the 2 day passes are sold out? Guess I'm too slow.
 
Well heck fire. No sense going to evo for 2 day. GG's EVO, I get to hold on to my money.

Wait, does the 2-day pass forbid entry to the side hall as well on the Sunday? I thought the side hall was open to all pass-holders for the whole event.
 
I really want to go to EVO but right now none of my friends want or can go with me and I'm not going alone. EVO even takes place a few days after my birthday.

I can't really tell. The website says its for tournament and exhibitor halls on friday and saturday, and then says no access for sunday finals.

I dunno if that means you can't go to the exhibitor hall during that time or what.

They also let you in if you have games to play on sunday so I don't know.

Well, if it allows exhibitor hall access on Sunday, and there are people who want to split a room, then I can go. Otherwise there's no point.
 
It sounds like you get zero access on Sunday at all. What a rip.
 
If that's true, then I'll take my business elsewhere.

I do kinda wish I had enough info on room sharing plans before that sold out, though.

Okay, enough ridiculing minor typos. Seriously though, mid-July (EVO) is quickly approaching. EVO snubbed Skullgirls this year (they can't ignore 2nd Encore next year!) but should we snub them? What exactly can one expect there from a Skullgirls player's perspective? At best, what is MarkMan setting up? Side-tourney stream time (hopefully not pre-empted by Tekken players that never learned to count)? If there is a pot bonus, can it be advertised on the Skullheart forums root page?

How can we get more Skullgirls visibility while there?
  • bribe Seth Killian to wear a Samson wig / give Yipes a Peacock top hat
  • have top players wear Skullgirls T-shirts
  • annoyingly flood twitch chats with "When's Skullgirls?"

None of the above.
EVO will be great if you play one of the main games or live in that area.

I mean there's no way that evo can even come close to combo breaker for SG visibility, but at least give them SOME credit. There'll probably be some side stream time, no pot bonus, maybe get some people to rep us. Evo's not great for SG and you shouldn't go just for it but "none of the above" seems excessive

I edited my post to show what I was none of the aboving.

There'll be guaranteed stream time on Madcatz twitch thanks to the mishap last year.
Like if you are in that area or are a SG player playing another game, definitely join the side tourney.
