If Skullgirls were to be included at KiT, would you be interested in attending?

Gonna keep this short and sweet. Skullgirls is currently not included in the lineup for the Kumite in Tennessee, but that could change if they can expect around 64 entrants. Depending on Summer Jam's turnout, that may or may not seem like a realistic goal, but we'll see what happens. With that said, IF Skullgirls were to be included at KiT, how many would be interested in attending? Streamed pools and main stage on Saturday would be given, but again, this will only happen if the KiT staff determines that the game is worth including. The possibility of a pot bonus depends on... various things, so just assume there won't be one for now. Reasoning on why you would or would not attend could be helpful.

I might be able to attend I think, since I think there's a chance some Indiana players could be driving out themselves and I could potentially catch a ride. If there are even a couple of Midwest SG players who'd show up who'd like to get in a little SG, it wouldn't particularly matter to me if SG is main game or not, though obviously it would be nice.

I'm probably going to Frosty Faustings in January so I wouldn't be able to make this.

Hello, I am the Tournament Organizer for KIT. I would love to host Skullgirls as a main game at KIT 2016. My first real experience with the game and the community was when I attended Combo Breaker this past May and watched the Grand Finals - I really liked what I saw with the game and the spirit and passion of the players.

The main issue with running Skullgirls at KIT 2016 is I still know relatively little about the game and we have never run it at KIT in the past. Typically to include a game at KIT I need someone close to the community to run the bracket for me and means to acquire enough setups for the game - a minimum standard for any game to ensure that it runs smoothly. Secondarily I would like to know enough people are interested in attending so we are able to justify the stream time it would receive - typically this is not a problem and more or less takes care of itself, but as I stated I know very little about the game.

I am certainly not risk averse with KIT and I am open to adding Skullgirls.

Where's this being held at @Vandy ? If it's some what near by, I'd be glad to help out in any way. I'm one of the admins from a facebook group that assists new players with Skullgirls and we (used too) host online events all the time, with me handling the PC and Xbox side of the tourney. Personally, I would say a PC set up of Skullgirls, to let people of both consoles play, but the general console of choice is PS3/4. If it's close by, and things did get rolling, I can spare my PS4 (if it's picked over the PC rig).

don't run a tournament on PC, you run into driver issues, it's much safer to just pick one of either ps3/4 and run on that for the sake of consistency

Why i said "personally". If I hosted an event for PC, I'd make sure that everything is up to date with drivers and already have apps running to help other remotes connect easier (like my Ps4 Pad running like a xbox 360 pad).

I have family in Murfreesboro and i been dying to get some offline exp w Sgs..i really wanted to be @ KIT last yr and i will take off work to be there and play SGs this coming Jan..hopefully ppl show..if not i guess i'll just play sf and hang w my brother

Late reply, but in case you couldn't find out it's being held at:
Crowne Plaza Memphis East, 2625 Thousand Oaks Blvd, Memphis, TN

Shoot, I shoulda looked it up.. More of forgetfulness than blaiming my internet this time. Thanks. Memphis? This is in West Ten... Eh, if I had a way there (which I prob could talk someone into it here) then yeah, I'd love to go and help out.

I went to both this event and Frosty this year, and will be attending both again next year. I was bummed out when I found out Skullgirls wasn't at KIT this year, and was really only going on a favor for some friends (to cut down on hotel costs/make the drive more bearable). If SG is going to be at KIT in any capacity, I will be there, because those same friends are going again and I'll have a real reason to go.

St. Louis and KC both have Skullgirls community we could bring. It's a 9 hour drive for us, a 5 and a half hour drive for them. If I can get them to come that's like, 10 people right there.

would be fun to see some people again that went to evo 2014. Maybe moving back to Tennessee was a good thing, in the end? XD

Were you the guy I talked to at Chicago Fire restaurant at the O Hare at Combobreaker? I think I talked to you about how I enjoyed KiT when I went last time and would like to see Skullgirls there. Just curious, the name sounds really familiar.

Could have been, although it is kind of a blur at this point.

Unfortunately I was unable to secure what I needed to run Skullgirls at KIT so I cannot run it at KIT 2016 at the moment. I had a deadline of the open of registration (Sept 21) and it didn't happen. Sorry to those who may have been looking forward to SG at KIT.

I will certainly continue to do further research and gauge interest for a future SG event at KIT.

It is not on the registration list for KIT 2016, but our anime TO has expressed interest in running a bracket for it onsite.

That's cool, and a big thankyou for seeking us out.

A general request: If you do decide to do SG at an event in the future, it's really helpful if we can be alerted as soon as possible simply because people have to organize time off from work and also because it can take people a little while to decide which events to prioritize if there are several within a short period of time. (This is a general thing I'm saying to all TOs, the ~6 months of warning you gave us for this was plenty - we've just had some people mention a possible event at really short notice, which has resulted in lower turnouts than might have been possible.).

I will do so for sure. I am already planning KIT 2017 so there will be much more notice for that event. Skullgirls is high on my radar for that event so with this much time for planning having SG is very likely in 2017.

So, sorry for the delay. It is over a year away but I am sure the SG will continue to grow even further based on my observations of the community over the past year.

Of course.

If there is a pay-at-the-door tournament for SG I guarantee it will receive stream time and will be built into the official schedule.

I call it "pay-at-the-door" because I generally dislike the term "side-tournament" as it has a connotation of being an afterthought or not well taken care of.

Cool to know. I might go if there is a tourney of some sort. And if I can actually go there with money XD

This event is coming up soon. Any update on the Skullgirls situation?

They confirmed the other day on the Facebook page that Skullgirls would not have a tournament at this event. :(

I'll still maybe be trying to go if Indy marvel guys have space for me, not sure about that yet though cause I guess they weren't thinking plans till after frosty faustings
