You don't need to be able to combo off it for it to be good. It's a sliding knockdown; just run up and get a free mixup on their wakeup. If I recall, it used to have 3 hits of armor. 2 hits isn't quite as obnoxious since multi hit normals actually have a good chance of beating it on start up now.

I been looking at that one "not good enough" this whole time wondering who the hell it was. My new mod powers unfortunately dont let me sneak peaks at anonymous polls.

I havent played against the new h brass knuckles, but i played against the old one... And it didnt see,m to good then. Sg is getting away from the horizontal based neutral game of old. Its becoming more vertical and that means that horizontal assist become weaker and verticals become stronger.

Basically:

You can jump over it and its lockdown is pathetic and it is easily punishable on block and it giving the same amount of hitpause makes it easy to pbgc against. All in all i find bomber to be much more difficult to deal with as is updo for me.


Doesnt mean the assist isnt op... But it does seem matchup specific. Basically double jump and super jump as well as counter calling it, ive found to be good anti brass strats... When it went fullscreen and was 3 armor and was slower....

Two Argus Agony supers if you charge an item drop?
 
From what I've seen it seems like Hornet Bomber, we just have to learn to deal with it. Plus, it looks pretty hard to combo off of. Maybe a good assist for peacock mainly.

It can always be patched later, let's see what it does in competitive play/tournaments. It is nowhere near as obnoxious as Hornet bomber's current form.

Wow, really? Why is that? Is it not possible period, or would it take too much work?
 
I could fix it easily, but it's a thing people have come to rely on so I'm not sure I can from a "stop changing the game" perspective.
 
I would argue that more it's akin to fixing an oversight that people have gotten attached to, since Green Bounce is a thing assists are supposed to do.
 
As of today's patch, H Brass Knuckles (and all other assists that cause sliding knockdowns) causes a techable knockdown when used as an assist. Seems a little more reasonable now.

You can definitely still combo off it as Squigly. Not sure about Peacock, but probably.

I don't think any other commonly used assists caused sliding knockdowns, which is why the issue wasn't noticed until Big Band was made playable.

Not commonly-used assists, but some people were picking an assist just because it let a character without a slide end a combo with an untechable knockdown (Filia with Titan Knuckle); they were around.
