That's really interesting to know, even if it's only a rumor! I just wonder, if they really want to continue the serie, why don't they do another indiegogo/kickstarter? I know that they said that they don't want to rely on the players anymore and that last time the cost was underrated, but if they're in a pickle money-wise, it would still be worth a shot. Just put a significantly higher cost to avoid the problem of last time, and if it doesn't work then they don't have any obligation and no harm done! That wouldn't stop them from developping the other smaller game(really curious about that, the survey sent to the kickstarter backers had many sexy idea inside...) AND still get the money from the PS4 Vita version.
There's probably some monetary aspect i'm missing, but if they still want to work on Skullgirls after all those years, then for me it looks like a case of "why not?"
