Is there a way to deactivate the left joystick?

The reason I'm asking is because my controller has downwards drift in my left joystick and it doesn't let me move or jump when I try to play, idk if there's an option to deactivate its functionality so I can play with the d-pad

Hello, I don't think SG has a launch option for this so the next best thing would be if you're on PC would be to open Steam Big PIcture mode and adjust the deadzones there. Otherwise, unfortunately there is no option like that present in the game on console releases.

AFAIK the only stick you can disable is the the right one.
