Hi, I've never posted in this forum before, but would anyone happen to play "Heritage"?
I know you can play it on FightCade by registering and getting the necessary ROM, for those that might be interested.
I main Dio, trying to get good with Vanilla Ice. Anyone play it?

Yeah I've played it as well its a fun game if a bit silly in some ways.

It got brought up in the jojos thread for a sec.

I'd love to see another game like it but judging how all the more recent jojo's games have kinda moved away from traditional fighters that might not happen.

That being said the game is sick and has a lot of cool bits of attention to detail.

it's definitely silly, but that's what i really like about it.
i saw the "eyes of heaven thread" but didn't see one for "heritage", so i made this one.
it's a very neat game, imo, and i really wanna get good at it.
like, i wanna get this good.
NO IDEA HOW HE'S DOING THAT COMBO, THOUGH. how do you control the stand and the user simultaneously? is that extreme dexterity, or is it a script? i've heard some people in the fightcade lobby say that they use scripts for tandem combos.

to be quite honest, i think that it's even scarier that older players say that's a basic BnB.

I played All stars, and it was great. Heard good things about Heritage as well. However, none of the ROMs I've tried have worked. You wouldn't happen to have the link to the one you used to get it to work on fightcade, wulda? I've been wanting to try this game for awhile.

here's the ROM i used for heritage, courtesy of milk chan.
{ here }

all you have to do is download it.
now before you download it, go into fightcade, click settings, and then find the option that says "locate ROM folder"
once you've found it and downloaded jojoban.zip, put that .zip into the folder, but do not unzip it.
unzipping it will kill your game. after that, to test if it works, find the jojo lobby (not the venture one), and type "/play" into the chat.
if it worked, it'll take you to the screen, and if you're not sure what to do from there, i can explain what to do on a keyboard.

for most tandem attack, during the superflash you can hear weird sounds, those sounds are the inputs that are being done for the stand (the pinball kinda sounding ones)

the standcrash wiki is a good source for info on the game, if not a little incomplete.

Edit: theres also a german wiki somewhere with a lot of info but I can't remember what it is.

i've been looking for a good wiki on this game! everyone said shoryuken was the best, but i haven't looked at stand crash.
now i either need to get good at quarter circles with a keyboard or get my stupid controller working.

I know how to work it, thanks. I play some SF games using Fightcade on rare occasions. Thanks for the link! Fightcade's made getting older fighters like these a lot easier. :D

Wow, I want to main Dio, and this is considered a basic BnB.
This is kind of intimidating. I really need to get my hands on something other than a keyboard, I can't do these QCs to save my life.

What a coincidence! I've been eyeballing this game up very recently and might try playing it.

Got it and I'm loving it so far. I decided to pick up Alessi due to his general weirdness.

This game is one of my favorites, attempting to main Young Joesph. Getting my stick in a few days and its gonna reset almost all of my progress...

oh geez, alessi

I wish I was more familiar with the show, so I knew who the hell I was using (witch lady that summons mine things). Game's great fun, even if I absolutely suck atm XD

I'm thinking about also playing Polnarreff if I decide to eventually play another character.

The one with the hood? Her name's Mariah. You might wanna watch the show/read the manga, it helps you understand a bunch of references in the game.

I'd say do it. Polnareff's pretty fun to play, and Silver Chariot has good pressure.
According to the Stand Crash Wiki, I picked characters with difficult learning curves.

o boi

shadow dio, rubber soul, and hol horse is where its at.

Shadow Dio looks pretty damn cool, but I can't zone, so I certainly can't do Hol Horse.
And I definitely wouldn't be able to learn Rubber Soul. It looks like he has so little options in battle. ;-;

No more difficult than a Skullgirls combo in terms of memorization. The Tandem part is L M H L M H L M H etc etc...

The problem with this game is that it is actually somewhat hard on execution and no one plays it so it's not worth learning.

Some characters are also just plain trash like Young Joseph because he has no Stand and can't do 50% combos.

"Is Young Joseph bad?"

"NO!"

I figure Young Joseph is just hard because the pressure you have to keep up with that shit is like, wow. You don't have a stand to keep pressure on them. It kinda seems like he's a zoner, though, so that can't be too hard unless he's up against really good active stand players.

So that's the pattern? Wow. I guess it just seems different because it's definitely not SG to me. That's all you input during the tandem scene, right? What about the MudaMuda at the end?

Some guy on FightCade said he know of a JoJo zip that had a training room. Anyone know..?

tfw you're playing hol horse against a friend and zoning pretty good, but in reality, you have no idea what the moves are called and how you learned them

Execution is brutal in this game. It's thousands of miles away from SG's combos.
This game makes SF4 links a piece of cake.

Here is the link for the "training room":

http://wiki.standcrash.com/index.php?title=FBA_Cheats

Its just the cheats for the emulator. So you can go on versus and practice against the 2P.

Btw, the combo you showed is considered BnB by pros. Master the first loop of the combo (which is something like Stand off c.A, c.A x qcb+A, dash, etc...) and it will be already pretty good.

I could definitely understand the first loop because that qcb + A/B/C is a neutral game tool that I use. Definitely familiar with Dio's Stand Off moves, definitely not familiar with Za Warudo's.
Oh, thanks for the info on the training room thing!

So when is Beowulf and robo fortune coming to consoles? (xbox)

Never, because Jojo Capcom is an old game

Anyway, was thinking of trying this game, who's a good beginner character

I'd reccomend Jotaro or Avdol for beginners. Pretty much anyone can pick up either and do decent.

I'd just take a look at the wiki and judge from abilities and learning curve. Young Joseph's kinda easy to start with.

Hell no, Jotaro is pretty hard to play decently.

Any character with a stand is gonna be harder to play, as it gives you 2 playstyles depending on the character.

The game has pretty deep movement mechanics (roll, short hop, super jump, super short hop, etc...) which you might want to be familiar with.

I would recommend shadow Dio, black Polnaref or Khan

I can't get this execution for hell. It's like you have to press one button slowly at a time during a combo to make it work.
Might just play Hol Horse. ;-;

Playing these kind of characters is like playing Painwheel.
Execution is heavy like HELL.

Something confusing me, so is this game a 4 button fighter? It feels like the opponent CPUs are using more moves than I have access to it feels. I could look this all up, but I've been so busy I've bairly had the time to even practice.

Welcome to a non-Skullgirls game that doesn't baby you with inputs.

S is the Stand button, I suggest you look up what each button does on the Stand Crush wiki

Thanks. I thought as much.
Yeah, I need to look up move lists >_> I'm trying to avoid playing stand characters. I guess I just want to avoid having to have the dexterity to control the stand as well heh.

Stand mostly just swaps you between two movesets, not all stand users can move their Stand. It's not that hard to grasp but there are also a lot of other mechanics you wouldn't expect in this game like roll or pushblock

Really? I'll have to read up then! And watch the acutal show....

or read the actual manga :^)
