Why do people find King Crimson so hard to understand?
He can see into the future for ten seconds, react to what it is, then jump to that future while whatever the opponent is doing also skips to that point.
Like, if I started throwing a punch and he activated it, he would dodge the punch, and when it deactivates I'm standing there with my arm out not realizing what happened while he's behind me ready to attack back.
The first point being memes, naturally, and the second one is the way it works, the explanation you gave is the most common one i found, but there are certain things to account in order to give some fictional "sense" to this power.
A. King Crimson predicts the first 10 seconds with Epitaph, now, how much time you would need to have those 10 seconds predicted, does Epitaph instantaneously receives the 10 seconds in a let's say, 0.3 seconds mark just for then pass the information to KC and then activate it?, or it doesn't "see" the whole events if not only the actions that will take during that frame time.
B. If King Crimson erases time, then, is it erasing the present time and the future time at the same time? (intended joke).
In that case, it would be impossible for Diavolo to move because if he is erasing time, then he is erasing the space that is around the time erased, and since Space and Time are both sides of one coin, then the actions of Diavolo cannot be executed during the erased time, because there is literally no time at all to move or react to since it was already erased.
C. Your explanation is logical, but it lacks a thing, assuming that you're gonna throw a punch to Diavolo in a let's say between 0.5 and 10 seconds, your punch takes exactly 4.5 and 6.5 seconds of the exact "predicted" time frame to reach its target, but then we have another contradiction, if Diavolo can erase the future time (assuming that he can "react" to time that doesn't exist, refer to point B) then, wouldn't be more logical to just "erase" bits of the time but not all the 9.5 seconds that all the actions take?, but then again, the power states that all the actions taken in the erased have already happened, but they didn't happened, let us put it like this.
Imagine that A is me and B is Diavolo, and i'm gonna shoot Diavolo and the graph would be something like this:
A>>>>>>B>>>>>>
With King Crimson power, Diavolo makes it so that instead of being the previous example, it would be this.
A>>> B >>>>>>>
The bullet didn't reached Diavolo's body but is still on-going, so he erased a part of the time that took the bullet to actually hit him, but in some scans of the manga, not only he is able to sometimes interact with the environment of the erased time, but he can also
move during the erased time, that is impossible because you aren't stopping time like The World, you're "erasing it" so actions cannot be taken during something that it didn't happened in both the present and future and you aren't stopping time either so you cannot say something like "Well, Diavolo is aware of the erased time so he can move while at it" since the time that takes to do so doesn't match with the time that he is erasing, since no time can be erased while he is doing something.
The only explanation valid for the actions of Diavolo is that both Epitaph and KC are taking its movements within a realm apart, but this is never, ever mentioned, explained at all during Part V, add at it that the translation of Vento Aureo had inconsistencies and you have a power that doesn't match any of the criteria needed for a "logical" fictional power, so is technically breaking its own rules to make something that shouldn't happen, happen.
I'm still imagining how David Productions will handle Diavolo's power in the Part V anime, is gonna be something crazy i can predict.
