I like Kamen Rider. I haven't watched since OOO was new. been meaning to get back into it. YOu know any youtube channels/possible torrents (dunno about torrents since anime has taken over my HDD :PUN:)

Also any news i should know on the newer series?

well I'm just gonna say, Gaim, is dumb, in a really good way. I havent found anything wrong with it, AND its written by the guy who wrote Madoka

since OOO theres been, Fourze, Wizard, and the current series going on Gaim.

its hard for me to choose a favorite rider. but my least favorites are Den-O and Decade. Den-O because they should have just let the series end, and Decade was too much of a sue for me to care, even though he was the first rider series I watched all the way through.

oh okay. Eh. you can' really end something like Kamen Rider..same reason why SUper Sentai hasn't ended..even though the keep reusing the same themes.

Decade was literally an amalgam of all the first 10 series of Kamen Rider..done well IMO.

I loved Double (W) Blade and Kiva (which if the series ended after Den-O wouldn't have existed :Raisedfist:

For saying you like the series, you sure have some animosity for it.

That's the gist of information I got.
kamen rider is more directed towards teens whereas sentai is directed towards kids. its not really anywhere the same as sentai though. they can cover darker themes, and they have been going a more lighthearted route, each rider series feels unique and different in it's own special way.

edit: while I do bash some riders, feel free to check them out anyway. theres lots of good rider series you can jump into whether they be Showa or Heisei. but watch Kamen Rider Black BEFORE Black RX. RX is a sequel series.

I didnt mean that kamen rider should have ended at den-o, I meant den-o should have ended and NOT done all those movies, which added more story to something that felt complete. ryotaro being younger due to the timeline getting screwed with, zeronos getting MORE cards even though his entire character is about self sacrifice which defeats that purpose when he can sacrifice limitless amounts. I just wish the series ended in the main series and not continued on in the movie. I also didn't like Decade because tsukasa just wasn't all that interesting. he never really had a main villain outside of Narutaki shaking his fist in the background and he never really had to adapt to his rider abilities, also the series ended in a stupid cliffhanger which pissed me off. Also I didnt like how the riders got super deformed into weapons against their will for decade to do finishers. it just rubbed me the wrong way.

I never gave any indication that I wanted kamen rider to end, just den-o not go on and make those not great movies. I love W onwards and love all the riders (aside from tsukasa, and maybe kabuto when he's all ordained by god mode) but I don't want the series to end. :(

okay, heres why I can't choose a rider as my favorite:

KR seasons 1-3 set the bar
V3 is hype
X, while I think his tranformation is kind of lazy, was the first to branch out without the main riders
Amazon got violent as FUCK and thats awesome
Stronger was also hype.
Skyrider was also cool
Super 1 has one of my favorite designs ever and the henshin is cool
Black was darkhype
RX was the same
J and ZO were really good one off riders
Shin creeps me out in a good way and was also violent
Kuuga brought the series back full throttle and his powers are cool
Agito was awesome and had some great side riders
Ryuki was like the Madoka of Kamen Rider and had really great rider designs with an original take on the story
555 while I don't like the ending I loved everything else before and was super dark
blade, I need to watch blade but I love the card aspect
Hibiki is cool and has also great rider designs
Kabuto, while I didn't care for the "I am blessed by the heavens" moments I love the super speed fights
Den-o was great but I dont like the movies
Kiva was also dark but the gothic feel and dual stories were AMAZING
W was this super cool detective series combined with Kamen Rider
OOO has really good shit yo
Fourze is SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE (dat belt voice yo)
Wizard is just so FUCKIN' GOOD LOOKING AND THE DRAGON POWERS! MMMM!~
and Gaim, I call the fruit powers dumb, but its that good kind of dumb that you can't help but love.

You gave a better comparison of Kamen Rider vs Super Sentai than I could that's why i didn't say anything.

I was watching Kiva OOO and started Den-O at the same time. on youtube. I know i was crazy but I somehow did it..dunno how I'm gonna do it now. lol

I doubt he'll be the suit actor and they probably won't have him do too much fighting outside of the suit,

after watching the RAW the other day... I really wish Zack/Knuckle would step it up. he's constantly being rescued in all his fights and it's just embarassing, I know he just started being an armored rider but... all 3 fights he's been in? really? and even against one basic level Inves? Can we get a story where Zack is constantly shirking dancing with his team because he's practicing boxing, and he shows how strong he's gotten by Dempsey Rolling Bravo?

on a side note, I have been watching Fourze, Agito, W, and am planning on trying to finish Amazon soon. I've missed the Riders so much.

Fourze is a great light-hearted show, W is W, Agito just always had designs I've loved but never knew why, and I just love ultra-violence and Amazon delivers that in spades.

I have started getting into Kamen rider series but I had no real idea where so to start I went with Kamen Rider Ryuki. I am not done with it but any suggestions in what order would be the best to go ?

ooooh!~ lemme see!

W is good, Kuuga is great, Amazon is good ol' cheesy 60's era violence, Black is amazing, you could jump on the Gaim train with us, OOO I've heard is good, Kiva has this cool gothic feel and a really well put together double storyline, theres so many to name.

but considering you're watching Ryuki, I recommend Gaim, because it also focuses (more) on Riders fighting each other. And I would also recommend W. just because it's Kamen Rider W.

Okay thanks for the suggestions. I might join in on seeing Gaim as it's always good to see a series while the episodes are still ongoing. All the other Kamen riders sound like they would be good but should I watch the first kamen rider or just go with some of the suggestions you offered first ?
 
eeeh, it really depends. The original Kamen Rider series is the longest running one, with almost 100 episodes. not saying you shouldn't, but if you're not a fan of the 60s campy nature of shows from that era, I would recommend watching Kamen Rider: the First. its a condensed movie version of the original story of the first 2 riders. also the sequel, Kamen Rider: the Next.

also, I have so much trouble finding classic Kamen Rider episodes too, but if you can find a place where we can watch them post a link here. ouo

and to add to that, a lot of the Heisei series is standalone, so you don't have to watch the classics in order to appreciate the current rider series. but considering theres a Showa vs Heisei Rider war movie coming soon, I would definitely recommend at least watching The First, and maybe a couple of the classic first (ichigo) series, just so you can get a feel of the badass that is Takeshi Hongo.

that actually is the guy I've been getting my Rider episodes from. Rider097 is a pretty cool guy. he's also hosting the Gaim episodes I linked in private videos. also, he has to mute the openings, soley so he doesn't automatically get hit with copyright claims for the music. :/ even though we english speakers can't get it and have to resort to covers on iTunes!

yeah, its just YouTube that doesn't allow the openings of Gaim. So if you want the opening, just watch it on gooddrama.
 
so, I watched Gaim last night, and the new episode was pretty good.

-the fight between Kouta ans Sid was awesome!
-I still say Zack needs to step up his knuckle gaim
-while no Oren this episode he at least got a mention
-the scene with Zack after the fight was pretty funny
-Micchy is still backstabbing and being just adorable about it
-two new plotpoints and the revelation of where Zangetsu might stand.
-mysterious new character that Kaito wants to know about
-Yoko was still a QT.

all in all, pretty good episode.

-the Kurokage troopers prove to be competent!
-Sid is still a shit
-Yoko is still as QT and ever
-Kaito is still being an amazing anti-hero

all in all, another really good episode.

You know, I never watched Kamen Rider. I know roughly what it’s about, but that’s it. But I’m a collector, so I’m familiar with Tamashii Nations Figuarts and MonsterArts. Especially the latter one, because of their gorgeous Godzilla pieces.

So, the Figuarts line is full of Kamen Rider, good for the fans out there. And since I watch the lines anyways to see when something interesting pops up, I see lots of Kamen Rider characters too. Some time ago I saw a dude in a spiky green outfit, and thought I google his name for funs sake. "Bravo Rider". First thing that came to my mind was "Captain Bravo" from Buso Renkin, but…


Holy shit, I wasn’t prepared for that much win. I love these campy and over the top transsexual characters in japanese media, like Bon Curry or Emporio Ivankov from One Piece for example. Even better when they are totally badass behind their strange looks too.

While I try to get the idea to start collecting Kamen Rider as well out of my head, I waste enough money on the damn Transformers and Kaijus and whatever stuff I want sometimes too, can the master of Kamen Rider aka Sanoblaze please tell me where I can watch this series? English subtitles would be great, my japanese is pretty rusty. "Rusty" as in "I don’t understand crap".

I recommend jumping into whatever Heisei suits your fancy by looking at the episode descriptions, but my personal favs are W, Kuuga, and as of right now, Gaim.

Showa on the other hand is really hard to find, but generally all of Showa is good, but please take in mind to not judge the special effects by today's standards. watch them while imagining you too are in the time where they were aired.
