Killer Instinct - Series in General

So where'd this come from?

To be honest I don't know. I was looking up Rash stuff then that video and a lot of things involving these pictures where everywhere. That's why I repeatedly state it's very skeptical and I'm not sure it's real. Shadow Orchid is a stretch especially.

So like, was this stuff confirmed fake and I missed it or has nobody seen this yet?

View attachment 12915 Unless I'm forgetting something this doesn't seem to have anything to do with CombatFrogs which makes me skeptical, but either way it could mean more BattleToads music so I'm done if it's real
This picture is from concept art for a game called Natural Selection 2 on Steam.
So.
No.
Fake.

Killer Instinct with the new lighting looks so good. The KI devs are really putting a lot of hardwork into KI.

Killer Instinct is only getting 3 new stages (sorry for the crappy phone screenshot)

kinda still wish every character got an ultimate. Just would seal the deal on that KI feel. Sorta like No Mercys

The Halo stage and Kim stage are two of those right?

I have a feeling it might be Tusk's stage.

I would be surprised if gargos doesnt get the last stage, since he will most likely be the final boss.

Maybe that's another thing they're reallocating resources for stages to?
i really don't think so because if my memory serves me correctly when Shago was shown off the Dev Guys stated that he was the only one that was getting an Ultimate. Could be wrong. who knows. But they make Stage Ultras that's fine too. Kinda want to see Jago WindKick some one into the Giant Ass Bell in the background of his stage. *GONG*

Shadoe Jago is the only one with an ultimate. It was confirmed no one else is.

"Every character has a dynamic theme"

Does... Does that mean...?

You're gonna have to expand on what it might mean past the dynamic music we've been getting already.

just saw new arbiter trailer and his voice isn't the usual voice.

i sorta figured that Keith David was a bit too expensive for a fighting game cameo.

hrmm, it seems the lighting on the energy sword looks unfinished. compare it in KI to the version in halo 5 and it's pretty obvious.

on the upside, sounds like his theme is from Halo 2. ALSO THAT SCARAB.

eh i know it's not Keith David but Arbby's new voice isn't too bad either. He also seems to be a mix of the other characters in KI. He has Glacius' foot stomps, and Cinder's Pyro Bombs in the form of the plasma grenades.

Edit: I have not played past Halo 1 for the Pc so this whole thing about KI's Arbby having a different voice actor than his Offical Halo 2 one is kinda lost on me. Comparing the two voices, yeah I can tell the differences but I still find the KI Arbby to be okay. I'll never understand the nerd rage on this sorta stuff.

Lame no Keith David. Lot of the popularity for the character was the VA choice like the other Halo characters. New voice didn't even sound close to him especially with that 'were it so easy' impression. Lot of people are pissed on the YT comments which reminds me of the Snake/Rise/etc change fiascos. Gameplay, stage, and music not so lame though.

Whoa, so apparently Keith David couldn't do it because of a stroke? Man that sucks if it's true. I was getting excited that he might have been busy working on something more important... ...like a Gargoyles reboot.

This voice is an interesting substitute though. I'm impressed that Iron Galaxy didn't just default to Kevin Michael Richardson like everyone else does.

Where was this news?
I just saw a bunch of people talking about it in comments. I haven't found a news site confirming it, and nobody's even mentioned it on his IMDb messageboard. Could have been from several months ago though, so hopefully somebody posts a reference if it's true.

Regardless, I hope he's doing well. We've had to say farewell to a lot of legends like him in the last few years, so I hope we'll get to hear him in more projects soon.

For those that might have missed it.

Not everyone gets a stage <RIP Battletoads> yet every character still gets a full character theme? My ideas on what that could imply:

- Music select for each stage maybe, or at least for themes of characters without a stage
- Assuming the last stage isn't for Tusk or Gargos, maybe the third stage is based on Rare Replay, and it basically is there as a shared stage for Rash and any additional guest characters that are not Arbiter
- Gargos is back as an actual full fleged boss battle, and some portion of the fight has your character's theme playing
- Maybe a simple sound test
- Training Mode will have an option to play the dynamic themes, so they made themes for everyone

Anyway I agree that the last stage is either for Tusk <as otherwise he'd be the only playable vet without one> or Gargos <for a sick nasty boss fight arena>

Question is whether Tusk or Gargos are more likely to share a stage [aka pull a Alex/Ken] with any of the existing KI characters.

Apparently the teaser for the next character comes out Wednesday, so keep a look out for that.

Arbiters trailer again but with the tease at the end this time.

oh fudge... Tusk is like a Viking Warrior. He has the tattoos with what looks to be Celtic Runes (maybe I'm only 85% sure) His broadsword is really nice looking, like it has some detail in that thing. He kinda has that presence of the classic Beowulf, this large strong leader. Oh man this looks pretty good. Also that stage look pretty good. I'm not sure what is going to make it super active like the other stages, but i'm sure Iron Studios will find a way.

Killer Instinct: Tusk Goes to Skyrim
I am so hype for Tusk's design, he looks about the same as i imagined
and of course he'd get the last personal stage, he's the last of the legacy roster
DAH!

It is dissapointing that this means gargos isn't getting a stage, but I guess his final stage can be anywhere since he's a interdimensional demon.

By the looks of his teaser, seems like they hadn't changed him too much from his classic KI design, which is nice since it makes him easily recognizeable

rewatching that arbiter trailer made me notice that his throw-stab animation is based on an elite backstab animation from reach.

arby is looking pretty rad.

I can see Gargos sharing the Jago/Shadow Jago/Omen stage considering the intimate connection those characters have with each other.

Tusk and Tusk stage looks fun.

Someone in the comments said
"Sees those guys frozen"
"Did Tusk just get freed out of a frozen tomb?"
And I'd be 100% fine with that.
That is already way easier to swallow then KI 2's convoluted time travel mess.

nah Tusk is just one of those extreme larpers. Being part of a group that met online and decided to have an epic viking battle in greenland.

I know it's mostly for marketing, but I like to think that the reason why these guest characters are invading the KI universe is because gargos's return tore rips in the space time continuum lol

yeah... sure whatever. Rash just hear that there was a cool party going on and he was insulted that he wasn't invited. That's why he's crashing it as the new kids like to say. As this is going on Pimple and Zits are off going thru Turbo Tunnel and dying and stuff.
