Lack of Acquisitive Prescription/Countervenom.

I am very much a low level player but I do like to watch a lot of high level/pro level play Skullgirls. I've noticed that in the higher skill echelons I very rarely see Acquisitive Prescription/Countervenom being used by Val players against opponents. Is there a reason for this? In my own playtime i've found it to be an invaluable tool for getting out of danger (or in some cases, punishing/trapping players) but i'd like some insight from more experienced and skilled players on it's pros and cons.

oh that's easy, The move is just plain too risky to throw out at top lvl. It can be baited to allow the opponent to do a full punish on. The opponent can also just grab you out of the active frames for the counter. Not saying that it doesn't have it's uses like reading an opponent's approach it's just that the risk to reward ratio is just too high when it comes to high lvl and that a great player with really good stagger pressure can read the opponent and tell when they would want to use a counter.

it is very easy to use it against a slow assist like brass and deal a ton of damage to it, if not killing it. but i'd rather have the meter for a safe dhc

They're good as a tool to call people out when you're resetting them and you know they will press a button vs a certain reset, allowing you to capitalize.

I thought that might've been the reason, thanks for clarifying.

I've done exactly this a couple of times, but I guess it only works because my opponents are usually at or below my skill level.

Thanks for clearing this up all. I suspected I knew what the reason was but it's always good to get confirmation from veterans.
