PREPARE FOR THE MOST HYPE, MOST POVERTY TOURNAMENT IN THE EXISTENCE OF ALL HYPE POVERTY TOURNAMENTS!!!

Last year SG had zero presence at Final Round and no plans by anyone until three brave warriors called @@guitalex2007 @@mcpeanuts and @@DaRabidDuckie put their heads together to bring the greatest fighting game this side of the poverty line to FR16 and the result was... not what they planned at all BUT it gathered not only a crowd of spectators but enough people for a 15 man tournament without any promotion or advance time whatsoever.

The grand prize? A water bottle (worth its weight in gold at that venue, I assure you) and this epic prize.

Will we up the ante? I don't know. But Napalm will be ignited, ass will be tossed around, anthropomorphic bombs will blow themselves up, giant arms will toss some fools and sweet combo chaos will get a sweet trumpet solo... (maybe)

OK BUT SERIOUSLY...

Primarily, the purpose is to have casuals pretty much as long as we can, the whole weekend if possible. I still don't have my work schedule for that weekend, but that Saturday should be the main day for SG casuals. The tournament will only happen if enough people show up and/or ask for it. There may or may not be a stream depending on whether the venue will allow for it (and whether I can take the laptop). We will be located in the BYOC room (ShinBlanka approved of it) unless for some reason we won't fit. Then in that case, glue your faces to this thread for updates. We might be designating a SG HQ room if this happens.

I'm sure people will be interested in trying out Big Band, so please bring a laptop with the Beta or something that can run it. I will likely bring my laptop but this is not 100% sure as of yet.

I live in Atlanta and will be at FR17 for the Virtua Fighter tourney. I'll certainly stop by and get in some SG if I can...
 
This is like an hour from my house, but I still can't make it because life. Sorry guys. T_T

EDIT: I'll bring a laptop with Beta. Haven't fully tested it's game prowess, was good when i did a quick test on it.

Not sure about the SG tournament, but there's usually a registration fee to enter the venue (if SG is not a listed event you might not need one, ask one of the others in this thread about this). If you do need to register on-site:
You may register at the door on the evening of Thursday, March 13th between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM EST or the morning of Friday, March 14th between 8:00 AM and 12:00 NOON EST

We will be CLOSING registration at NOON ON FRIDAY. THERE WILL BE NO SATURDAY REGISTRATION.

There is a spectator badge which is the only thing you will need. As for how much, I honestly can't remember.
 
Last year the spectator badge was $20 and I think its the same this year.

I'm on my way. Stream is planned but entirely dependent on whether we get throttled. Woo!

So, is there gonna be a stream and (more importantly) how many showed up?
 
Guitalex was streaming yesterday, though I'm not sure if that was from FR or if he'll be able to do it again, tho.
 
My Internet was throttled so I could not stream but recorded every tournament match and will be uploading them to YouTube.

Shoutouts to my stick turning to shit and having to use someone else's. Lesson learned. Please bring spare parts for your stick, people.
 
Also shoutouts to JSmooth for bugging me to do the tournament, asking me last minute to add his friend and his brother and then disappearing for half an hour, forcing me to disqualify his friend and brother.

Oh yeah, we couldn't figure out whose sick that was so we sold it and got hookers.

Was it a simple "yeah, it was your mom"?

Was it a more complicated "we all chipped in for your mom's group rate"?

Or will he say nothing and involve no mom jokes whatsoever?

I think he'll say nothing, regardless of how obvious a mom joke would be as a reply for this because mom jokes are immature.
