-The Rules & Basics:

IGAU, USF4 will be played on XB360 * MKX on PS4 * KI on XB1 * SSB4U on WiiU with GC adapters* Skullgirls on PS3*

All setups will have Asus Monitors and external speakers. Controllers will not be provided.

If you are using a PS3 stick for MKX on PS4 you must bring your OWN PS4 PAD AND SYNC CABLE. We will have a desync station and once your match is over you will be required to go to the desync station. If you do not go to the desync station and you end up pausing someones match you are DQ'ed from the tournament.

MKX, KI3, Sm4sh, Skullgirls and USF4 (double blind pick allowed) will be 2/3 double elimination. IGAU will be 3/5 double elimination throughout. ALL GAMES loser picks stage/character. Grand, Winner, Loser Finals is 3/5.

IGAU is double random stage select, loser chooses to keep stage or go back to double random/change character.

Sm4shU is 2 stock / no items / 6 minutes. Starter Stages: Battlefield, Final Destination, Smashville --- Counter Stages: Halberd, Kongo jungle 64, Castle Siege, Omega stages, Duck Hunt, Delfino Plaza, Lylat Cruise, Town & City. Apex Rules

Games with more than 8 entrants 70/20/10 split, anything less is winner takes all.

Alright, ladies & gentlemen(?), we're only a few days removed from Paradise Found and I, for one, am giddy with anticipation. Now, for the record, I am totally aware of everything happening that weekend (Age of Ultron, MayPac, etc.), so I'm not expecting Philly numbers or anything like that. My primary concern is keeping my word: getting SG out to more events in the Northeast Region.

In any case, though, I am putting up $100 for the pot bonus for SG and another for USF4 (just for good measure). There's also gonna be some serious money put into MKX, should that interest any of you. Regardless of how the turnout shapes up, whoever shows up is in for a good time. The guys who run these tournies are excellent hosts & treat everyone with the utmost respect. Anyways, just hadta throw that out there.

The next few weeks are gonna be awesome!

@cloudKing211 Yes, KPB will be streaming and yes, you can pre-reg. All necessary links should be on the event page.
 
So I have a request
adding pot bonuses for skullgirls is REALLY awesome, but giving all of it to first place is kind of odd to me. Getting 2nd and 3rd is difficult in this region as well and first place already makes a really good amount by winning, so maybe you could split the bonus 60/30/10 as well to make more people happy? @IAmAphroDynamek

That's some mature & benevolent thinking, Sage... damned decent of you, too. Seriously, color me impressed. Since all this money is coming outta my pocket, anyways, I don't see why not. Besides, who am I to even dare contemplate denying the will of the King of Skullgirls. As it has been written, so shall it be done. Okay, all jokes aside, this is a cool idea & I can definitely get behind any idea that would foster a greater sense of camaraderie within the community. What say the rest of you: Would splitting the $100 bonus work as an added incentive for all those playing?
 
Seems like the "ayes" have it... alright, gentlemen, consider it done: This Saturday, the $100 pot bonus will be divided accordingly (read: following the event's listed payout) amongst the winning contestants. I also just found out that KPB will be streaming Injustice at 2:00p, but Rapzilla (the guy behind all this) doesn't expect a huge turnout for the game. That being said & to answer a questionI was asked earlier, we should be getting underway with SG at around 4:00p, give or take. This is FGC time we're talking about, after all. Should anymore info come my way between now & Saturday, I'll let you know.

P.S.: Guys, I need a sincere opinion on something. Now that it's official that the PS4 port, 2nd Encore, will be getting a fully voiced Story Mode, I wanted to know if any of you think I've gone completely off the deep end by wanting to bring my melodious baritone to the game? Since I'm going to Combo Breaker, would it be worthwhile to try talking to Kai & Mike Z about it or am I simply being delusional?

Delusional is definitely the wrong word :P But it's also not going to happen. Here's why:

First off, all the recording sessions are almost definitely done. It's been over two months since I recorded my lines, I would honestly be shocked if they weren't wrapped up at this point. That being the case, as far as 2nd Encore goes, they're done looking for voice actors. Secondly, my being hired should be considered an outlier; a rare exception to Lab Zero's hiring practices. I've spoken about why in other threads, but the important thing to take away is that Lab Zero hires professional voice talent from the SoCal area in all instances but one: mine. I am extremely lucky to have been given that exception, and I would be remiss if I suggested it were realistic to expect them to do so again with another person. Thirdly, I'm just a guy, so talking to me about it wouldn't have gotten you anywhere, anyways, lol. I did just check with them though to be sure, though, and was told, "we're definitely not accepting auditions."

I'll say the same thing that I tell everyone who asks me how to get into voice acting: follow Cristina or Kira's example, not mine. They worked hard and put themselves out there for years, and I was just in the right place at the right time.

Okay, couple of things:

1) Sweet sassy molassey, I was seriously not expecting a response from you on this in this particular thread. Super unprepared for that. Egg on my face notwithstanding, I would -never- assume to become part of the story dialogue... that would feel practically blasphemous. All I was ever thinking was to be another announcer voice. However, you did answer my curiosity on the subject and I sincerely thank you for the (unexpectedly quick and) courteous response. I'll just wait until my project with DTM Games releases to fulfill that particular dream. Furthermore, this ain't gonna keep me from enjoying Combo Breaker not one bit.

2) For everyone attending this Saturday, in the off chance that you haven't already heard about it: KPB will be donating an EightArc Fusion to the raffle. (Yes, they're having a raffle.) There's a bunch of other goodies to be won, but the Fusion is the only one I know about personally. Just one more reason to come out & kick ass on Saturday. Also, KPB will start streaming SG at around 4:00p or so since we recently learned we would also be streaming Injustice & that's set to kickoff at 2:00p. Hopefully, this should give everyone more than enough time to arrive, get in some casuals & enjoy the rest of the festivities. Finally, you're all welcome to bring setups since there's gonna be a BYOC policy at the venue. Should any other info come my way between now & Saturday, I will happily report it.

3) GET HYPE!!!

Okay, gentlemen... I'm getting ready to head out myself. Some new info came my way (very) early this morning:

1) We're gonna have our own room at the venue, one that can hold about 40 people.
2) As such, the BYOC policy is applicable here. Trust me, we'll have the space...
3) Just a reminder that we're gonna be streaming Injustice first at 2:00p, so SG should start at 4:00p.
4) Finally, @ElkyDori & @keninblack ... find me when you guys get there. We have business to discuss...

I think the earliest I can get there is 12:25 cuz the next train that leaves I can't catch

Gentlemen, once again I must thank you all for your commitment & dedication to the game as well as your faith in me. Allow me to get all the negatives out of the way:

First & foremost, I want to apologize to everyone who was in attendance & everyone watching the stream last night. Although I'm sure it's common knowledge by now, KPBLive lost its video feed during Losers Finals. Because of that predicament, we had to pause the action while working out the technical difficulties. After all the dust settled, it seems that T-Mobile was the guilty party. Whenever KPB streams at an event, we use a 25GB data stash so as to keep everything looking fluid. Last night, T-Mobile decided -- at the worst possible time -- that we only had 5GB available for use. That is what caused the stream's visuals to die. Granted, that was an unforseen eventuality that we frankly never prepared for, but I still feel the need to extend both my sincere apologies & those of Kick-Punch-Block. We won't let you down again, SGNation.

Secondly, our location in the McCarter Room instead of the Main Hall was due to the hotel's douchebaggery. Rapzilla (the head organizer for MITO) was led to believe he'd have the whole hall for the event. On Saturday morning, however, DoubleTree informed him that they would only be able grant power to one wall due to fear of damaging their electrical grid. Furthermore, and I'm pretty sure this caught all of us by surprise, there was a Hasidim gathering for Shabbos scheduled in the hotel at the same time. That's what led to the noise complaints. Just goes to show how unprepared THEY were for US.

Okay, now that all the grim crap is taken care of... allow me to applaud each & every one of you that came out yesterday: @keninblack @ElkyDori @winnie @Rizil @Datagram @Serious_Eagle @Outlaw_Spike @matlokholmes @mcpeanuts @WarpedEcho @Hinokaga @cloudKing211 @dekillsage @LazyBakemono @Painsley ... you guys made SG the third-highest participated game at Paradise Found. Only MKX & SM4SH had more entrants than us. Considering that SG was the last game added to the roster, I count that as pretty damn impressive. This was just one more toll of the bell that's letting EVERYONE know & see what community loyalty really looks like. You all deserve a round of applause.

We've been doing good so far, gents, but this is still just the beginning. We already know what the plan is for Philly & I am currently in talks regarding another event sometime during the gap between Combo Breaker & Summer Jam. In the meantime, stay awesome!
