Metal Gear Solid/Rising - The best is going to end soon

If MGR 2 were theoretically announced, what improvements would you guys want to see?

-A longer game
-More/better optional missions
-Be able to use things you cut in battle
-Wall running/more use of the environment with ninja movement for stealth and battle
-Different incentives for going stealth and rushing in
-More incentive to use different weapons
-Be able to switch main weapons on the fly
-Boss Rush Mode
-Jetstream Sam returning

Off the top of my head, if a Rising sequel were to happen, I would want

- More actual cool platforming (Ninja Run is cool, but it kinda felt cheap when most of the games platforming was done by holding one button and forward)

- New parry input (Forward + Light Attack is functional, but far from optimal. Not necessarily getting it's own button, but an input that's harder to accidentally do.

- Better boss characters (Not better boss fights, because that's next to impossible, but better characterization, because that was really lacking in MGR:R)

-AI tweaks (If I was to list the AI issues in Revengance, it would take way to long)

I also want that angel shooting mini-game with EVEN MORE hard to aim with controls.

make me really work for it Plat.

I'd want creative combos to be more useful. Doing basic ground strings was WAY more reliable than going for launchers and stuff like that. Not to mention many enemies were too heavy to launch. Perhaps Devil May Cry spoiled me a bit in that regard.

Oh and this time I want taking out all enemies by stealth to count as an "S" rating and not "-" which ironicly made your final mission score WORSE in the first game. Good thing at least Blade Wolf DLC got that right.

yeah, that really irritated me in the first game. you put in all that work to sneak around in a box and it just gives you a bit of the middle finger for it. why even give us the option in the first place?

It's a side story set in the same universe sometime after MGS4. Codec calls mention the fall of Sons of the Patriots and Rose & John hiding from Desperado/World Marshal. There's enough there, there to be part of the MGS universe.
Well I wasn't arguing about lore or cannon I just mean it's not "tactical stealth espionage" or anything like the metal gear solid series. It's completely different and does its own thing.

All I'm saying is if someone says do I like MGS Series I would not include MGR as one of the games to think about.

I want Gray Fox back because Kojima said so.

He told some interviewers once that he originally wanted him to be the protagonist but his team pushed for Raiden. Can't track the source but I think I read it on the wiki.

So I've been playing through all of the MGS games to get ready for MGS5, I haven't played any of them before. All the way through 1 and most of 2 I felt like I was missing something, or not understanding why people liked this universe so much.

Then I just got to that part in MGS2.

Damn.

ye, don't expect anything else less than Master-level trolling when you see any kind of news about Kojima

Been suggested, but I wouldn't be surprised with modern Konami, especially since there seems to more to it than just an announcement. They've pretty much killed off every franchise they used to have, one by one. The day is swiftly approaching when Pachinko games are all they'll do. Hopefully this does turn out to be a joke though.

I can imagine Del Toro would probably threaten to walk if Hideo actually was let go.

I don't know how to feel because on one hand Kojima is known for trolling, but on the other hand, should we expect a prank of this level from an entire company?

a little worried but considering Kojima is Kojima, even if he was let go so many companies would bite at his heels to have him be a director.

If this is all a work, it's the biggest work I've ever seen.

If it's not, RIP what could have been the best Silent Hill game in a decade. (Of course MGS5 would be released regardless)
