But you're both missing the point that all Mega Evolutions are bullshit.
It's like X-Factor if only the top half of the tier list could use it.

Fire/Flying is 4x weak against rock, meaning that if the enemy had put stealth rocks on the field, your charizard is going to lose 50% health, or 49.9% depending on your HP Ev's. And that also means that almost any decent attack of rock type will faint a Charizard in one hit.

Well there are a few really super good Mega evolutions. Most are definitely reasonable, though.

I was being overly broad, but the point I was trying to make is,
Mega Evolutions were only given to a handful of Pokemon, and the Pokemon were usually chosen based on popularity or recognizability rather than anything related to actual gameplay. Obviously not every Pokemon that got a Mega was OU-Tier, but, did Blaziken really need a superform?

And yes, I'm criticizing a kid's game for not balancing some 800-something characters properly, I am truly the lowest scum of the internet.
 
Yeah, I mean, I get that, but,
Mega Evolutions just feel like it's furthering unbalancing things for the sake of some short-lived hype.

Yeah but considering Charizard will have already taken the Stealth Rocks once before, it'll be down to 1/4 health.

Banette and Audino are pretty up there in terms of their generations.
Banette especially, since it was made in order to advertise the Gen 3 remakes, so they were looking at what was popular in Gen 3.
You also have to keep in mind the difference between American popularity and Japanese popularity, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Audino was super popular over in Japan.
 
Besides, have you SEEN Audino? Audino is a cute AF Pokemon

you know, cause Blaziken was already confirmed
But either way, Blaziken is still not Tyrantrum so
