Why use 2 explosions when one will suffice? He has realized that He can channel that second explosion into far greater powers...

So there's footage of the Japanese demo.
Nothing a whole lot new there, characters only have their first two attacks (neutral and forward), but about 15 minutes in there's something kinda interesting, a couple of of, uh,
cutscenes I guess? Looks like the game is making efforts to be more cinematic overall 0:
 
Any word on when we get a demo? Cause y'know... I kinda wanna play this fuckin game. And listen to that kickass remix of Akira's theme.

I like Akira's all white outfit more but I'm fine with the red and blue one.
 
I mean, we already got two other dudes in all white gi's and besides, white outfit Akira comes with

red and blue is alright and i like that it can be used to allow him to stand out more.
 
Smash Bros. did the same thing by using Akira's original VF palette.

The more blue gi with red trimming has been associated with Akira since VF2. Just that the headband used to be white until VF4.

So it is more than appropriate for him to have in terms of being iconic. Ryu in a dark gi is automatically associated with Evil Ryu from a what if timeline, so it really was the best decision to make.
 
Well R.I.P. half the fucking cast (including the main characters) of the first game apparently as it comes out in Japan in 14 days.

I honestly don't mind that the cast is so different this time around.

It is a little disappointing that the cast is overall smaller (PxZ1 had 60 playable characters PxZ2 has 57 not counting Maya), but I am down for a crossover series that shakes up which characters get representation in each game.
 
All this talk about wanting Nick's finger reminds me of Morrigan's victory quote to him in UMVC 3.

Like, for once in a very long time, this game actually pisses me the fuck off. Removing half the cast of the first game, including the plot-central characters, so they could make room for more fucking Namco x Capcom shit, more shoving Fire Emblem Awakening down our goddamn throats, and pretty much ignore most of the first game. And then probably release DLC that's like a single mission long that includes like one of the cut teams. No, fuck this, I'm skipping this retarded bullshit.
