Skullbats happened a few days ago, and I think I got 2nd or 3rd. I lost to Deaurcy - who won Skullbats - who managed to win 3 in a row after I had 2. He's come a really long way since he was a Fukua/Squigly player. He's since dropped Fukua for Painwheel and picked up Robo-Fortune as a third, and he's made a ton of progress with Painwheel and Squigly both. Not so much with Robo, but his Robo's still really green; she'll get there.
I played Parasoul throughout Skullbats and it wasn't too pretty. I didn't do a whole lot with her. I haven't played her in a while, and it really shows. PME played Painwheel, and I'm reeeeally proud of him, because he's been so STUBBORN about learning this character, but he's finally putting some time in with her and he's made some good improvements.
After that, PME and I played a buncha games. I don't know the overall scores, but I think it was slightly in my favour. PME didn't wanna record it; I think because the connection got kinda bad sometimes, but it didn't happen much at all from what I've watched of the video, though it did get pretty bad here and there, but just for a second or two. Adeveis and I convinced him to record it, though, and I think it was a pretty good set. PME did good stuff, I did good stuff...And I did some bad stuff, and PME did some bad stuff, but that happens. It's an hour, but I feel like we played longer than that. It got really ugly after I switched to Parasoul anyways, so nobody should have to see that.
edit: Oh god, my Parasoul did get recorded at the end. It's so bad ;-;
Now that I feel like I've taken a good break from the game, I'm gonna start playing again and try to settle on a sub. I love Double and Parasoul, but I keep thinking, "Maybe I wanna sub Filia or Painwheel or Robo". I like point characters that can control neutral, but I like having fun more than anything, which is why I'm considering someone like Filia, who is the complete opposite of the safe, zoning playstyle I love, because she's just that fun of a character to me. But I dunnoooo. We'll see what happens. I'm just glad this is a character crisis over who I'll sub and not who I'll main. It's not as annoying that way.
Sooo...Filia/Bella/Band? Drewski's Original Trio? :o
Though Peacock/Filia/Bella in any order is still good too
Filia/Band/Bella. Partly because I don't believe in my anchor Big Band - especially not since my Big Band has gotten considerably worse since I started taking breaks - but mainly because I loooove Big Band/LnL.
When I think of subbing a character in, I always think of subbing them in place of Peacock. Mostly because I have a bad habit of feeling like Peacock's the problem when I lose really badly, because it FEELS like things go that much worse for me when Peacock doesn't do well rather than when Big Band doesn't do well, and sorta because I like the options Bella gets with Beat Extend. But Peacock/Filia/Bella would be great if I needed to switch Big Band out for whatever reason. That was my first Peacock team.
Skullbats video again. PME played a trio with Double and I played Painwheel. I won 2 rounds - I think - and then he won 2, then I got aggravated because I wasn't getting some of the stuff I was doing and blamed it on Painwheel, so I switched to Double, even though it wasn't Painwheel's fault. But it wasn't Double, it was my terrible Parasoul, because I forgot I changed my entourage, but I won because PME is terrified of that character. And then Skullbats ended because we didn't have enough people for more than 3 rounds and I won. Woo.
Meanwhile, I'm gonna drop Peacock for a while. I'm tired of almost everyone letting me get away with shit I shouldn't be all the time. With some of the crap I get away with with this character that I should be getting punished for, it's no wonder everyone whines about her being too strong; nobody knows how to play against her. I still can't decide whether Peacock or Eliza is the most overrated character in SG. Maybe Peacock, because I haven't seen people bitch about Eliza lately. Anyway, the time away from her will give me more time to look for a sub to stick with anyways. I'm in a bad mood about it, so I'll probably apologize about being mean later, but until then, I'm gonna play more Danganronpa.
edit: I forgot to post this yesterday when I typed it, so I apologize about being mean. But I still stick beside people giving Peacock too much shit. I understand being frustrated with a character, but not playing well against a character doesn't mean they're OP or need nerfs or whatever. If that was the case, then Terumi would've needed to be nerfed to the ground because I had tons of trouble with him in CP, but he didn't need nerfed to the ground. He wasn't that good, just frustrating and hard for me to play against. I'm gonna go play more Danganronpa again.
It is definitely true that a large number of players don't know how to fight against Peacock. I actually felt like it would be worth trying some changes that would make her less effective against low level players without changing how she functions at a high level, but I lost that argument.

I guess because there were people saying she needed buffing, so changing her to help people play against her would be detrimental to that. I dunno. If Mike and everybody are still up for Peacock changes, I'd be fine with experimenting with changes - mainly because the only buff I REALLY wanted was a better low short anti-air, which we got - but I dunno what could be changed to help people learn how to fight her without making a big change to high level.
I haven't posted in a while! I have some Skullbats videos! I've been slacking!
Also, a couple weeks back, Adeveis told me to play solo Bella mirrors with him, and I guess he recorded it. It's a really silly set; Bella mirrors are actually kinda fun.
I haven't been feeling Skullgirls too much lately. Only playing in Skullbats and whenever somebody asks me. BUT...I think I can pretty comfortably say I found my go to sub for Peacock.
Also, Adeveis made a PSN Skullbats channel, and everybody who can record is pitching in with match videos every Skullbats! I'll leave a link here if anyone wants to see our little corner of the SGC some more.
Alright, so, I took a big break not long after that last post, but with Combo Breaker coming up soon, I've been doing my best to get back in shape. And I started that by playing, like, 3 hours of lobby matches with some friends. Now that I have a PS4, I can record it easier so it's not hell to look at. I'm still kinda rusty and sloppy, so excuse that. If anybody who watches has any input, I'd love to hear it. I feel like I've hit a wall again lately.
