Biweekly Skullgirls tournament Salty! was host to several exciting announcements this week concerning EVO, upcoming DLC character Eliza, and more! Let's get to it. [prebreak]Click here for more info![/prebreak]


You thought $1,000 was a lot of money? Autumn and Lab Zero say "think again". On top of the $1,000 they have already donated towards the Skullgirls Encore EVO 2014 pot, Autumn Games have donated ANOTHER $1,500 USD, bringing their total pot contribution to $2.5K. Lab Zero Games, not wanting to be outdone, have donated $2,500 themselves, bringing the Skullgirls Encore EVO 2014 pot to a staggering $5,000! The final pot value (which will include entry fees) will be even higher. To better share this wealth, the pot will now be distributed across the EVO top 16, as opposed to merely the top 8. If you make it outta pools, you're getting paper.

Lab Zero wishes you to know that the $2.5K donated on their part towards the Skullgirls Encore EVO 2014 pot was obtained from Eighty Sixed merchandise proceeds, and not from Indiegogo campaign money. As such, the donation won't cut into their development funds for Eliza/Beowulf/R.Fortune. Anyone who has ever bought a shirt from Eighty Sixed helped make this pot boost possible, thanks a ton guys!

After months of silence, Lab Zero have finally revealed the voice actors for upcoming DLC character Eliza, her skeletal parasite Sekhmet, and her two loyal servants Horace and Albus!
With voice actors chosen and announced, you can expect these talented actors to grace your ears with their dulcet tones in the coming weeks.


Oh, and one more thing...

Eliza is coming to the Skullgirls ∞Endless Beta∞! The wait is finally over; owners of Skullgirls Encore on PC will be able to play her for the first time (in all of her unfinished glory) sometime this weekend. It will still be some time before she's ready for the spotlight, but beta players will have the chance to participate in her development and balancing until she's complete. You can discuss everything Eliza in her shiny new subforum.

My god so much awesome put into one character.
 
The VAs chosen for Eliza and co. blow my mind on so many levels. The big one being this: Anyone who's been to my Twitter page when Toonami airs each Saturday knows I make one too many jokes regarding the Skullgirls Cast being in many of the shows Toonami airs. (ex: Everytime during Blue Exorcist, I find any excuse to make Filia or Marie jokes whenever Sheimi or Izumo appear on the screen respectfully) So it blows my freaking mind that we have not one, not two, but THREE more VAs known for their work on shows that have aired on that block at some point in its history confirmed to also be in Skullgirls. The most surprising of which being Horace's VA being Sean "Goku" Schemmel, when DBZ is synonymous w/ Toonami.

I think this is a damn big omen that we need Skullgirls on Toonami at this point.

Anyway on to more serious opinions on the VA cast chosen.....

Horace: Wait, last I heard from Sean, he was in New York working on 4Kids' shoddy dubs. How the hell did LabZero get him? That's my only question regarding this.

Albus: Rufus? Yeah I'll have to wait until the audio gets done because I can't picture Albus talking w/ Rufus' voice and I don't know this guy's full range outside of Rufus.

Sekhmet: Awwwww I wanted Stephanie Sheh. And I would've rather Wendee voiced Illeum. She's done quite a few kind and motherly voices, you'd think one coming out of a woman made of guts wouldn't sound out of place. But I'm confident she'll do a good job as Sekhmet, even though when I think creepy blood sucking skeleton monster, Wendee Lee's the last person I think of. She doesn't strike me as the kind of person to do creepy voices.

Eliza: Okay did not see her coming at all. I officially demand a Anri Sonohara/Saika from Durarara palette for Eliza now. Though personally, I think her and Wendee's roles might've been switched.

Wow got some high profile VA work surrounding Eliza this is pleasing to hear. Also wow the pot bonus went up 5x pretty quickly sounds exciting glad the t-shirt sales helped out.

Eliza is just as slow as I wanted too this is great I love it

You know what would of been even more cool? If some of the money was used to commission a Skullgirls trophy, or maybe a figure.

I know I'd be super jelly.
 
I wasn't expecting her air throw to carry people all the way to the other side of the stage. :O

And Mike said he'll delete Eliza if anyone asks where any of her placeholder palettes are later. What he forgot to say was that this doesn't apply to DDB.

Michelle Ruff voiced Sonoshee McLaren in the dub of Redline, one of the best movies that was ever a movie. The only thing to do now is sit here futilely hoping that Eliza gets a Sonoshee color palette.
And, I guess update Endless Beta and try to break stuff.
