Valentine Cerebella
Another Salty Cupcakes just wrapped and with it came another set of updates. Most notable were the previews of 6 more IndieGoGo donator palettes; one palette each for Filia, Painwheel, Squigly, Ms Fortune, Cerebella and Parasoul. The guest NPCs in the River King Casino have also been shuffled around a bit so they're more believably facing the fights and the latest update on the Squigly console patch is... there is no update. Lab Zero still haven't heard from Konami. Finally, Big Band now has hitboxes on all his ground normals, plus a host of other new reaction animations.

Once again, @Makross has been kind enough to upload the clips of Mike going through all of this week's changes. The video starts with a run down of the new palettes and you can skip to the Big Band changes at 05:35.

Wasn't Bella supposed to be the SG universe equivalent of a Brazilian? I had college today and I just rewatched the updates from the Salty Cupcakes stream. Did they ever show Big Band being thrown by Valentine (Ordinary throw/command grab)?
 
I know the new Ms. Fortune one was an original color, no reference other than "White hair plus red outfit protagonists". I saw that on the old forum.
 
The Squigly one is a reference to Miyako Yoshika from Touhou 10: Ten Desires. Whoever picked that one is awesome. She's a Chinese zombie/jiang shi who can eat anything, lol.


As mentioned more accurately on stream, Parasoul's new one is Poison Ivy and Filia's "might be Peach."

That's not the entire truth - there was a chief inspiration (which would probably make it some Touhou palette, heh), although I played fast and loose with it and there's elements of other characters too.

Well. Didn't mean to speak for you. Sorry! I just heard Mike say it was "some Touhou character" and I was like "I'm know nothing about Touhou, but I know that's not it."
 
Not going to lie, when Mike picked Fortune and said Touhou palette, I braced myself for Chen.

...But that really needs to go to Big Band for his LP.

So... whenabouts can we expect to see these on Steam ourselves? Or will it take longer than last time. Cause I remember waking up to the update last week.

Big Band is coming along great, and looks like he may be playable in the next 2 weeks?
I love all the palettes, tho I agree with Mike that the animated series Poison Ivy would probably work better.
I wish I could help develop palettes for free... *coughhintwinkiloveyoucough*
 
Lol the Brazilian Flag Palette works for Bella equally if not more then the American Flag Palette.

No, but they did show Cerebella and Filia.
Filia's grab wraps them entirely in hair, so Band just disappears into her regular sized squeeze animation. Valentine's body bags will work identically.
Cerebella comes off the worst because of Merry-go-Rilla. Vice Versa's fingers usually grab the other player mostly accurately, but with Big Band they stab through his sprite.

They should make that Cerebella color that shows when they picked Big Band a selectable palette. It looks amazing.
 
I just bought the Marie shirt and I can't for for it to come in two weeks!
 
Why does the new Filia palette remind me more of Rapunzel rather than Peach?
 
Can anyone tell me what Peacock's new pallet is based off of? I'm really digging it with the new Val palette from the previous Salty.
