Senran Kagura thread: I dance for the honor of evil!

I also feel that it's bullshit you can't kiss any of the eyepatches on the eyepatch girls.
why even bother?
 
Can somebody describe me the gameplay? I'm honestly interested because of the girls and because the game upsetted some people

From what I've seen online, it's Dynasty Warriors with anime girls. Hack 'n' slash against hordes of relatively harmless "enemies" that just kind of stand there while you build combos. Combos and leveling yields longer combos and powerful transformation modes that typically involve a sudden lack of clothing.

Burst is basically a beat-em-up combined with Musou.

the 3D ones are more modern musou where you have the basic combos but if you're good enough you can do the air combos too.

also, the characters are actually pretty deep and are more than just the cheesecake.
 
I kinda wish they'd bring back the best SK character, Murasame. Ikaruga's brother for those who don't know, I know he was playable in one game and never showed up again, aside from a cutscene in Shinovi Versus. Ah well, one day.
 
You mean the one ever male playable in a SK game? Yeah unlikely he will come back. Reception was mixed at best and was a joke character. His arc with Ikaruga is also done [in both mainline and versus verse] since their relationship was improved + became a competent business man rather then a an incompetent ninja instead. Considering EV had a quite a bit of DlC characters yet Tamsoft would rather have guest characters and the other SK2 characters instead if him.

I would be fine with a male, but not really if it's a joke one. Hanzo's teacher for one could have worked.

Edit: Might as well bring this up to, but the mostly male Vita delinquent brawler Uppers is gonna have playable guest Daidouji.

Wait he actually goes off to do well in life? I..must've missed that plot point, thanks for that. But yeah I agree it would be nice to have a non joke male character join the cast. Also didn't know Daidouji was gonna be in Uppers, guess it's just another reason to be excited for it!
 
Yeah I might've picked up this game because fuck me and fuck you

but damn is it fun as hell to play when im like laying down for a nap or laying down to go to bed and just wanna jsut my brain off and press buttons

also being able to skip the dialogue of the characters i could care less about and get to the where the good shit is as is the best idea ever

Digital only was never really a problem. Thanks for the suggestion. Got it with some Easter money (cause aren't I lucky?)

It's been fun so far, but I still have to get used to it a bit. Don't have any favorites yet lol.

probably because Marvelous isn't a bunch of babies who want to make all videogames child friendly.
they know who is gonna buy the Senran games and they double down on it.
Marvelous is a bunch of cool guys.

Still mad the US was left out of that version of the game. Even if it is silly, I still would have liked to be able to get the collector's edition.

I know I can buy it on US Amazon.

They didn't like how it made the game more "anime" or whatever.

Dude, Senran has been rated M for a long time. What are you talking about? They'd have to remove a lot more to make it rated T and to that I say "fuuuuuuuuck dat"

Also, comparing the skinship in Senran to the skinship in IF is a major false equivalence. Like, in fire emblem all you did was rub a cursor around a character's face. In Estival Versus you can do things like massage boobs. They're not even on the same level.

Me, personally, I prefer how they changed it in the localized version compared to the JP version, feels more consistent if a bit grindy.

That kissing scene was more like she was trying to smack you with her nose tbh. I love it, so much cheese.

So, I just bought the vita version of the game, because I can't play the PS4 version in front of my family.

I got the Hebijo squad cards, which were the ones that I was hoping to get.

Yeah EV had a ton of patches that added actual content. You can actually see some of the stuff each version gave. Getting it physical does cut down the pain because the localized copy has some of the patch data within the game already + don't have to DL the base game.

I got Crimson which I'm perfectly fine with since it has Yomi. Honestly I would have been fine with any squad since I like at least one person in each one.
 
My 2 cents on the previous topic: I don't think it's accurate to compare FE and SK. One is a longstanding series that was given content that not only did the main fans not ask for or specifically want while the other is relatively new, with a specific type of content and audience in mind. I also don't think petting people and petting animals makes sense. I mean are we really arguing that me petting my dog and "petting" my wife are the the same thing and are socially considered synonymous -_-

I mean, everyone is free to like what they like, but can we not do mental gymnastics to validate opinions?
