Also, genies in Shantae's world are all female.

She's a half-genie, gifted with genuine magic, which she channels through her dance moves and her lethally long locks of hair. The reason nobody's ever seen anything like her is that the world's never had anything like her, until that portal opened just nine months ago...

Shantae is quick-witted, confident, dangerously powerful, and more than capable of defending herself from the worst that the Canopy Kingdom has to offer, but at heart she's really just a lonely, scared teenage girl who wants nothing more than to go home -- if she could only find a way.

Boobs are not immune to gravity in real life, so it's some realism in the depiction. The problem is when they start going off in different directions at EXTREME SPEEDS.

it almost looks like a mix between lighter and tanner.

Tan enough to count as tan,
but lighter enough to where the red looks super good!

But not too dark that she's not Arabian.

I like this, I really like the way she's designed in this game.

I seriously hope that WayForward is aware that the only reason they havent met their goal yet is because of the MN9 kickstarter, and they will be on indiegogo if they dont reach their main goal or their stretch goals. because lets face it, they deserve as much money as inafune is getting! WayForward always makes amazing games (book of memories aside).

I will never calm down over this debacle of 2 kickstarters at the same time!

Never apparently happened because Mighty No. 9 was kind enough to give Shantae a shout-out. I still hope Shantae meets most of it's stretch goals though

MB: I’m heavily inspired by Ranma ½. Even the name of our new game is inspired by that. Also Miyazaki, and lots of 80’s cartoons like Ducktales and Transformers. There’s a lot of G1 Pokemon in there too.
So it wasn't all in my head!

"Debacle" implies someone is at fault. This is an inevitably as crowd funding becomes more and more popular. There's only 12 months in the year afterall.

I'm not saying anyone is at fault. I am just more mad that Shantae, a series I love, is getting barely any attention because of the mighty no. 9 kickstarter, which has achieved many of it's stretch goals, while the Shantae kickstarter hasnt even met its main goal, and will probably be lucky to get even one to two of its stretch goals

I wouldn't be too worried. Mighty No. 9 gave Shantae a shout-out over Twitter, so at the very least the people are aware of it.

Whether they actually have the money is another question entirely, but it's something.

Don't worry about it. Shantae will get made. And get probably a few stretch goals. Remember the Skullgirls IGG? People thought we weren't even gonna get Squigly lol. The last 2 days it went nuts.

I am now okay with this because of the shout-out.

Well i dont remember the exact numbers, but I know we were not even CLOSE to the final stretch goal on the last day. Then I woke up the next morning to find it funded, i was shocked.

It might be a good time to up your pledge and get this awesome collector’s item -- you can carry it around in the real world, or give it to a friend. The sample coin we received feels solid and heavy and is quite thick, allowing for some deep detail in both the Shantae and the Risky Boots engravings featured on either side.​

Wow that's some attention to detail. I guess they realized that was the first thing people see when checking out the Kickstarter so they made sure to change it.

I wonder since Mariel was an animator in Shantae if they'll give Filia a Shantae palette? I would probably not only pick her up on my team, but make her my main character.

I really want this palette now. Also that coin. I might have to fork over the 90 bucks for that.

what sucks is that I am hoping to have at least 200 for a convention this month, which means I cant support Shantae.

I just hope it meets more than 2 of its stretch goals.... or gets lucky somehow and hits a million by some act of God.....
 
Maybe if nintendo enters as an anonymous backer with loads of cash (if they enter officially, the kickstarter can't go on i think, since it'll be privately funded n'all)

Yes, but WayForward is super awesome when it comes to extra content! And just knowing that one of the stretch goals is having the game with voice actors makes me wish it could get all of its stretch goals!

Doubt it. Nintendo wouldn't back it unless its an exclusive.
 
Exactly.

Nintendo would have no reason to back a game that would appear on rival consoles. If Nintendo had any interest in supporting Shantae, they would have just flat out paid WayForward to produce the game exclusively for Nintendo consoles from the get go, thus making the Kickstarter irrelevant.

Which they shouldn't do.

I just wish someone famous or even the MN9 kickstarter would say "if you plan on giving any more money to the MN9 kickstarter, consider splitting it with the Shantae one." but alas, that would be asking too much.
