So now that I've finished Raidou 1... Do I go for Raidou 2, or wait until after I finish Digital Devil Saga and see if I want DDS2 instead?

Okay, say what you will about how other games handled it (old Persona games SMTIV grumble grumble) but Demon Negotiation has been one of the most fun parts of Nocturne so far. Especially during full Kagutsuchi phases. Wish it didn't get reduced to an RNG in other games
 
It's a bit of an RNG in EVERY game.
 
It still somehow seems easier in some games, than others. Like Soul Hackers seems REALLY easy to negotiate demons into your team.
 
Nocturne feels a lot more like everything's in your control. Even if the recruitment fails you'll usually get Macca, items, or health to compensate; rarely do they just leave. And Instant Negotiation turns it into a walk in the park most of the time if you know what the condition is.

Oh, and Full Kagutsuchi conversations let you get stuff without spending anything even if the answers to questions are a bit more random.

EDIT : Just beat Jezebel in Devil Survivor Overclocked on my second try. The first one was just to see how tough the boss was...and it was easier than expected.

Just beat Belzaboul and Belberith in DSO, final boss time b*tches. And you know what you need ? Black Frost.

Which path are you on, Gin's, Amane's, Naoya's, Atsuro's, or Kaido's?
 
Naoya's, because becoming an Overlord is freaking cool.

Also, Keisuke and Mari died because I couldn't find her freaking bag and I failed to recruit Gin...oh well
 
No big deal, I messed up on Gin too.

Only difference is I've still got those other two and I went to be a Messiah.
 
Alright, I was gonna say that if you do Gin's route prepare yourself for disappointment at the final boss, but that isn't a problem now.

I did Gin's route first run, all ya plebs.

Guys...I did it. I kicked Babel's ass, and oh boy was that hard. I had just the MC left to kill him

But then he switched to Wind weakness and I had Force Dance + Force Amp

Now off to kick Metatron's
 
So I'm near the closing of Nocturne and I think I'm going to do a bit of a split-file thing. Right after I get Masakados I'm gonna make two save files: one to get the Freedom ending with, and one to complete the Labyrinth of Amala and get the True Demon Ending with. I already beat Beelzebub so now it's a matter of kicking Metatron's butt and finding the Old Man. And speaking of which, Beelzebub was the toughest fight yet, though mostly because I didn't have Magma Axis or any other fire moves on the Demi Fiend. I was only saved by having Daisoujou on my team to do support things and Amaterasu for being my big fire muscle.

In the meantime, have some sweet music and fanart.

Atlus is known for making hard bosses, but this guy stands out among all of them for not actually being hard, but obnoxious. I thought my Chakra Elixir would actually run out with the amount of times I was using it here.

I'm pretty Atlus said that they get off on players' tears, not feed on them.

yea he was a pain to fight. though found chiaki harder to fight with her whole turning party members into flys nonsense. his fight was all about a pattern and just having a constant cycle on it.

though in my first playthrough any boss that could reflect physical made me sad since full moon crits was my main strategy for bosses.
 
How long have they been waiting for this game? 10 years? Feels that long.
 
Yesterday I was like : "OH HAPPY DAY IT'S FINALLY HERE" but then I saw the release date and I was like "It's right there on my screen....why you do this Nintendo/Atlus ?"

Let's see. Japan got it in May last year and America got it in July. Going off of the American release, that's about 1.5 years wait time.
