Skullgirls on the main stage and the return of SSBM would be awesome for next year.

Also Divekick.
 
Still, there's a problem to the "stars of the show".

Marvel and USF4 will be there even if they had to cancel every other tournament for it., so that's 2 spots taken. KoF 13 is almost guaranteed too. There's always a 3d fighter (normally tekken), and the injustice hype train still moves with some strenght

so that's 5 spots taken And there are the newcomers: Guilty gear Xrd, P4U, KI and the final blazblue (doubt it will get any attention)

Last, but not least, there's the new Smash, and smash fans are one of the most dedicated ever (add to it that now mega man fans would vote for smash too).

I THINK they'll force KI on EVO because of the hype it is generating, just like injustice made it to evo this year.

As much as i want to see severin's fabulous hair in the main stream, we'd need tons of support to get it in the top 6

Don't count on new smash being out by EVO. I'd expect a bigger push for melee, which as we've seen, can make one hell of a push.
 
i would expect it will be USF4, UMVC3, TTT2, KOF13, KI, GGXrd
USF4 and UMVC3 are guaranteed.
TTT2 is guaranteed, since tekken has a very big community on its own.
KOF13 is a maybe, but I think it will be there because it was very hype and has a strong community/sponsors.
KI and GGXrd are big names, getting a lot of marketing, and are new, EVO always picks those.

If theres more than 6, probably Smash or BBCP, or P4A2
 
KI will definitely be at evo. I'd put a ton of money on that even though I'm broke.

Actually on the topic of SG, there's an outside chance that we could get a similar situation to this year, where we manage to get the top8 on the main stage. I think any more its a little optimistic.

SSB4 is the first smash to be competitively balanced.
If competitive ssb players still push for melee, either ssb4 wound up sucking or they're crazy.
 
KI is going to be there mostly due to MS sponsoring. I honestly believe that the whole reason XBOX will even be the format is more due to the XBONE publicity KI will help lever than anything else.

There is no way SSB4 is going to be more competitive than Melee because Sakurai doesn't even understand what Melee has even become and why it's so great as a competitive game. Judging from the content that's already out, SSB4 is definitely not going to be competitive at all. Melee is really a happy accident,and happy accidents generally make for amazing games. I bet SSB4 will still make the roster just because it is new, but it'll probably die after a year. Hopefully Melee will continue its appearance at Evo though.

Anyway I rooted for Skullgirls and Melee. Yay for rooting for the underdogs!

Somehow I don't think they're stupid enough to not research what made Melee so much better than Brawl or ssb64.
It's not as though it's literally impossible for them to produce another melee, the elements that made melee good aren't some nebulous, magical thing that need to be summoned while the planets are aligned. I'm not going to outright say that SSB4 will be better than Melee or anything like that, but you should have a little more faith in them, because it's not impossible... and unlike Brawl, they're actually trying this time.

Is there a date for the new Smash? Not expecting it to be a good competitive game either, no matter how much lip service they give.

KI will be there, regardless of quality or demand.

Sakurai already said he's trying to make it somewhere in between Melee and Brawl. So not as competitive as melee, and not as casual as brawl. I DO expect it to be on the main stage at EVO once(considering Brawl was in 2008), but I DON'T expect it to even be released by Evo 2014. I'm betting on Smash 4 for Evo 2015. However if Smash 4 somehow releases in Spring 2014, then yes, you can bet it'll be at Evo next year.
 
There can always be another donation contest for wildcard games for "last spot" #Kappa
 
And then WB can add Injustice afterwards

Marvel seems kind of obligatory, but I'm hoping it's the last year it's at evo. It's getting pretty stale. SF4's sorta the same but there's such a huge number of beasts that main it and there's a new version so oh well. GGXrd and Smash (assuming it turns out ok) would be great but probably won't be released in time. KI will be there, hopefully it'll be fun to watch. Tekken's a given, unless some other 3d fighter becomes the new hotness. I think it's a fight between SG, Injustice, Divekick and KOF for the last 2 spots, with KOF being the favorite.

EDIT: And it appears that there's a poll on Eventhubs that they created to gauge interest as well. If you have an account there you should vote as well - SG is currently only in 9th, but no by too much.
