Match Set #1
RK | Dolfinh [ ] vs cR | SonicFox []
No footage for first round found in above video, but it was shown to be a convincing win for SonicFox who only lost his Double while his other two characters remained near if not at 100%.
The 2nd round starts off with Dolfinh starting off strong with Ms. Fortune pressure and even connected a Happy Birthday although he didn't get much off, it did result into a dead Double in the end. SonicFox responded back in kind with Fukua backed with Eliza assist pressure which lead to a dead Ms. Fortune. SonicFox repeated this again on the incoming Squigly who didn't live long. Dolfinh showed some life and threw out a Double Level 5 which caught SonicFox's Fukua which was enough to kill her. The match became a 1 vs 1 with Dolfinh's Double vs SonicFox's Eliza, but in the end SonicFox ended that fight one sided which gave him the match set victory.
cR | SonicFox wins the match convincingly with 2-0 victory sending RK | Dolfinh to losers.
Match Set #2
MikeZ [] vs Swift-Fox Dash []
The match starts off with MikeZ riding the momentum with having his Cerebella backed with Big Band assist to pressure Peacock before her zoning can start. Peacock was then killed fast once kept in corner. MikeZ's Cerebella did half kill the incoming SwiftFox-Dash's Cerebella before MikeZ's Cerebella eventually went down off a hit confirm in the corner. MikeZ's incoming Big Band threw out a super to catch SwiftFox-Dash's Cerebella off guard and did some damage before SwiftFox-Dash threw out a level 3 super to respond in kind. MikeZ then did a fatal hit confirm off a drop kick which would lead to enough damage for the dead Cerebella and the match win. MikeZ would take first blood of 1-0
Next match starts with much more successful Peacock zoning from SwiftFox-Dash where it seems there wasn't much MikeZ could do this time. It ended for a complete victory for SwiftFox-Dash which would tie up the match sets 1-1
In the final match for this set, MikeZ's Cerebella gets the first critical hit confirm on SwiftFox-Dash's Peacock that took half her health away and even landed a reset, but couldn't properly followup on that which allowed SwiftFox-Dash to safely raw tag an injured Peacock for his Cerebella anchor. This proved fatal because that Cerebella would then make a critical hit confirm that would catch both MikeZ's Cerebella and Big Band for some big damage and would DHC to Peacock to continue the carnage.
By the time it was over there was a dead MikeZ's Cerebella and a nearly dead Big Band who managed to get out from an Argus Agony super near the end. Although that delayed the inevitable as a good amount of that remaining little life was depleted by Peacock chip damage where Big Band died soon after to give SwiftFox-Dash the match set 2-1 victory where he moves up while MikeZ is sent to the loser brackets.
Match Set #3
Bang Camaro [] vs Negus Eyoel []
Negus Eyoel starts off with a convincing first match win with great Painwheel lead pressure that Bang Camaro's Beowulf didn't have much answers for. It ends with a DHC Super from Negus Eyoel's Cerebella for the kill on Bang Camaro's Big Band. Negus Eyoel marks on the scoreboard with 1-0
Next Match, Bang Camaro's Beowulf falls victim again to more Painwheel reset mixup pressure. Bang Camaro's Big Band traded blows with Negus Eyoel's Painwheel, but Painwheel got a hit confirm to connect a DHC to bring out a near fresh health Cerebella. Big Band and Cerebella traded blows and while Cerebella was near death she also got a good hit confirm in to nearly kill Big Band. Bang Camaro manages to kill Cerebella, but now has to deal with a a half health Painwheel while having a sliver of health.
Bang Camaro simply scoops up the incoming Painwheel and does damage to even up the health more. Negus Eyoel throws out a desperate super mash to hopefully be enough even if chipped, but Big Band still had a few pixels after it ended which lead to a fatal punishment from Big Band that clutched the match for Bang Camaro. The scores are tied now at 1-1
Final match now between the two and Negus Eyoel's Painwheel yet again makes quick work of Bang Camaro's Beowulf with those reset mixups in the corner. With Big Band coming in hoping for another clutch victory it takes out Negus Eyoel's Painwheel with better neutral game play. The incoming fresh health Painwheel catches Big Band with a super and continues the pressure to further increase the damage output at Big Band and leaves him at half health when finished. Bang Camaro makes the key hit confirm however and with the amount of meter he had it was enough to kill as he ends the match set with a level 3.
Bang Camaro wins the match set at a 2-1 victory eliminating Negus Eyoel from the tournament.
Match Set #4
Sig [] vs Remikz []
The match starts with both Sig and Remikz trading blows with each other briefly at neutral with neither side gaining clear advantage, but that changes quickly once Sig's Fukua got a key hit confirm in and followed that up with a successful burst bait for even more damage that would kill Peacock + corner pressure for the incoming character. Remikz's Filia was caught in the corner mixup and even when Filia got our of the corner was losing badly in the neutral battle against Sig's Fukua zoning + Big Band assist which would eventually kill the Filia. Remikz's final character Cerebella gave some effort against Fukua/Big Band neutral game pressure and even got a reflector confirm, but ultimately wasn't enough as the Cerebella too died in the neutral fight. Sig takes first strike with 1-0 in the match set.
Match #2 starts and again Sig's Fukua neutral game dictated the opening of the match and made quick work of Remikz's Peacock. Sig hard tags from Big Band who was the DHC killer of Remikz's Peacok to Cerebella and made a definitive victory against Remikz's Filia who did big damage and was eventually caught in the back part of a Cerebella super for the kill. Remikz's incoming Cerebella could not do much against Sig's Cerebella as his was stuck in the corner pressure and ate mixups. Remikz's Cerebella would then eat a DHC for the match win for Sig.
Sig would then move on with a 2-0 match set victory with Remikz eliminated from the tournament.
Match Set #5
Bang Camaro [] vs MikeZ []
MikeZ in the start of the first match got the first critical hit confirm with his Cerebella which reduced Bang Camaro's Beowulf down to half health already, but Beowulf responded back right afterwards for some damage of his own. Cerebella ends up killing Beowulf with MikeZ's resets after landing a command grab super that shifted the momentum to his favor. MikeZ's Cerebella doesn't last long when Bang Camaro's Big Band lands a few hit confirms on the wounded Cerebella. The match becomes Big Band vs Big Band now. With Bang Camaro's Big Band at half health with MikeZ' Big Band at the health advantage, Bang Camaro's connects with a critical level 5 super
MikeZ makes a clutch Big Band victory despite this though after surviving that attack with a sliver of health ending it with a connected level 3 giving MikeZ the first point 1-0 in this match set.
Bang Camaro responds back with great Beowulf play after the two players slug it out causing both Mike Z's Cerebella and Bang Camaro's Big Band to die during the course of the battle. During the 1 vs 1, Bang Camaro's Beowulf landed several air grapples and kept the pressure on Big Band then ends it with a flashy finisher to tie up the scores 1-1
Last fight where it could go either way, but when MikeZ's Cerebella was giving corner pressure against Bang Comaro's Big Band and was about to kill him something critical happened. Bang Comaro raw tags into Beowulf which ultimately led to a happy birthday to completely change the momentum that instant.
Suffice to say that lead to Bang Camaro winning the match set at 2-1 [again comes from behind after losing the first match in the top 8] which lets him advance while MikeZ is eliminated from the tournament.

Match Set #6
Sig [] vs RK | Dolfinh []
Sig for this match decides to swap out Fukua for a Beowulf lead team as an interesting tactic. That move proved to make his team no less effective with a dominant first match win with Beowulf mixups and corner pressure from which Dolfinh was helpless against.
Dolfinh showed some life in the 2nd round with a Squigly credited character kill with a nice Daisy Pusher reversal that shifted the momentum.
and even made a Happy Birthday attempt at the end that may have clutched a much needed match victory for him
but ultimately Sig the Japanese Skullgirl player came out on top with a 2-0 victory eliminating RK | Dolfinh from the tournament.
Match Set #7
cR | SonicFox [] vs Swift-Fox Dash []
This is Winners Finals and SonicFox this time pulls out his Robo-Fortune/Eliza team for this matchup. This proved to be a wise move as Robo-Fortune was able to make light work on any zoning attempts from Swift-Fox Dash, but Swift-Fox Dash came back with this first match with a needed Happy Birthday connection from his Cerebella that shifted the momentum to give him the first match victory.
SonicFox came back with vengeance for the 2nd match with nasty Robo-Fortune/Eliza assist corner pressure that would give SonicFox a convincing 2nd match victory off a DHC Super equaling the scoreboard at 1-1 now.
3rd match now and Swift-Fox Dash still couldn't get his effective zoning started. SonicFox dominates another match with a more effective neutral game approach. The score is now 2-1 SonicFox.
4th match and Swift-Fox Dash again still can't get his Peacock zoning started due to how effective Robo-Fortune can get around it, but this time swaps out to his Cerebella during the fight. Swift-Fox Dash manages to capitalize on a bad raw tag into Robo-Fortune to shift momentum and connects a Happy Birthday with a Cerebella Level 1 Super and next does DHC to Peacock Bomb Super then into Argus Agony to give both of SonicFox's characters some big damage.
Ultimately this damage was too much for SonicFox as SwiftFox manages to close this match up any remaining health with some Peacock projectile chipping. The scoreboard is once again tied at 2-2 for this exciting Winners Finals.
The final match starts for this exciting set and both players seems to want to win this bad. SwiftFox's strategy isn't working and SonicFox seems more careful now about avoiding any more fatal mistakes.
SonicFox takes this match set with a convincing victory for match #5 advancing him to Grand Finals in the Winners Bracket with a 3-2 match set victory against Swift-Fox Dash who is sent to losers bracket.
Match Set #8
Sig [] vs Bang Camaro []
Sig the Japanese Skullgirl player who is still progressing the brackets is now going against Bang Camaro who has shown that you can never count him out from any potential comebacks from behind.
Bang Camaro convincingly kills Sig's Fukua fast due to the ratio difference in this first match and maintained the momentum throughout the match. Bang Camaro loses his Beowulf who did a ton of work for him near the end, but he had a fresh Big Band ready to take out Sig's last character Cerebella with a dropkick for a 1-0 victory.
Second match now and Sig seems to have made some adjustments for the neutral game with his Fukua where neither player seemed to dominate yet as they each traded blows with each other. Sig ultimately comes out on top this match with more critical moment hit confirms that made Bang Camaro's team bleed just too much. Sig now evens up the scoreboard at 1-1 with a DHC finish.
Third match and Sig seems to have found his rhythm now with this time a much more dominant win. Bang Camaro did show some life near the end with his low health last standing Big Band, but that ultimately was too much of a deficit when fighting against three healthy characters from Sig and gets caught in a Cerebella Super for the Sig Win. Sig now takes the lead of this match set with 2-1
Fourth and potential final match now and Sig takes the set with a convincing one sided victory with his Fukua play backed with Big Band/Cerebella assists. Sig now advances to Loser Finals with a 3-1 match set victory and Bang Camaro is eliminated from the tournament.
Match Set #9
Sig [] vs SwiftFox-Dash []
Loser Finals now begin and already projectiles and assists are being exchanged between the two teams. Due to Swift-Fox Dash using a more damaging/tank ratio and simply because Peacock can get nasty damage as a character this gives SwiftFox-Dash the edge in a neutral game trade-blows fight. Ultimately Sig's Fukua struggled to get in against the zoning wall thrown by SwiftFox-Dash and the few times he came close he couldn't make any key hit confirms so Sig was helpless as his team bleeds. Sig's Big Band couldn't do much, but Sig did show some life with his Cerebella. Sig adjusted when facing against a zoning Peacock and made some key reflector plays which made his Cerebella make short work on Peacock.
In a Cerebella vs Cerebella fight with Swift-Fox having the stronger ratio of the two it looked liked Sig could still get past that and steal a win from behind by winning the neutral game initially while sitting with 5 meters at the ready, but a failed reset attempt costed Sig greatly as SwiftFox lands a command grab into super for the match win. SwiftFox-Dash takes the lead in the match set with 1-0
The 2nd match now and Sig shows some life at the start my managing to get past the SwiftFox-Dash Peacock zoning and making a key hit confirm while locking his Peacock in corner pressure. Swift-Fox Dash manages to stay cool and uses an Alpha Counter for a Showstopper Super setup to the change the momentum immediately. SwiftFox-Dash's Cerebella then makes short work of Sig's Fukua and swaps back to his primary point Peacock after the work is done. Sig's Cerebella comes in and again the momentum is shift by making SwiftFox-Dash aware of the constant danger of reflectors and managed to get in for a hit confirm on Peacock and resets her in the corner which is enough to kill her. This time it's Swift-Fox Dash's turn to draw blood with his Cerebella who got the hit confirm and ended with a kill using grab bag. Down to his last character Sig uses his Big Band and initially neither player gets a convincing advantage, but that changes when SwiftFox-Dash connects a painful level 3 which was enough damage to put the match to bed. SwiftFox-Dash takes another win and continues to widen the lead at 2-0 for the set.
The third and potential final match starts if Sig can't make any key adjustments. SwiftFox-Dash continues to command the momentum and swiftly [no pun attended] kills Sig's Fukua with this time more aggressive Peacock play. When Sig's Cerebella came in he was obviously fishing for some key reflector moments against the Peacock zoning, but it's clear SwiftFox-Dash is more cautious of them and refuses to give an inch. Sig's Cerebella did manage to land a reflector hit confirm, but could not get anything substantial off of it which can cost him greatly. Swift-Fox Dash's zoning still continues to dictate the match and kills Sig's Cerebella this time. Down to his last character Big Band Sig would need to conquer a big hurdle to take this from behind. It looked like it was happening as Sig's Big Band managed to get in on SwiftFox-Dash's Peacock zoning with a key hit confirm then a reset after which guaranteed a dead Peacock with Sig sitting on five meters. SwiftFox-Dash is now down to his Cerebella and the match turned into a tense neutral game where each player was fishing for that critical hit confirm. Sig actually connects with one of his cymbals, but couldn't get much off of it which could be a fatal mistake which ultimately seems to be the case as Swift-Fox Dash manages to make a key hit confirm into Super which was enough damage to close out the match with a dead Big Band.
With a 3-0 match set victory SwiftFox-Dash advances to Grand Finals again for another rematch against SonicFox while Sig the Japanese Skullgirl is eliminated from the tournament.
Match Set #10
cR | SonicFox (W) [] vs Swiftfox-Dash (L) []
This is grand finals now where we see SonicFox and Swiftfox-Dash cross swords again and they are sticking with the same characters. Initially neither team seems to maintain the momentum as they cross blows with each other although Swiftfox-Dash's Peacock zoning isn't quite as effective against SonicFox's Robo-Fortun. Eventually SonicFox's Eliza makes the killing blow against SwiftFox-Dash's Peacock, but SwiftFox-Dash shows signs of life when his Cerebella makes a key hit confirm on Eliza which does damage and can potentially kill her so that SwiftFox-Dash can face a half health Robo-Fortune. That isn't the case though as Eliza manages to escape the killing blow with pixel health and it is now her turn to make a critical hit confirm which leads into Robo Fortune Level 5 Beams for Cerebella to eat which clinches the first match for SonicFox at a 1-0 lead.
The 2nd match starts and SonicFox maintains the momentum with his Robo-Fortune getting past SwiftFox-Dash's Peacock zoning with ease. Although the Peacock was pressured it did manage to use Bomb Super which did catch an unsuspecting Eliza assist which took a huge chunk of her health away which might come back to bite SonicFox later.
Nothing ends up happening to benefit SwiftFox Dash though as SonicFox's Robo-Fortune continues to bully Peacock in the corner to kill her. Swift-Fox Dash couldn't do much with his Cerebella coming in due to SonicFox's Robo Fortune dominating the neutral game and making key hit confirms with enough meter to DHC kill his Cerebella giving SonicFox another match victory widening the lead to 2-0 and is one more win away from taking the whole tournament.
Third and potential final match for the whole tournament begins and SwiftFox-Dash shows he won't go down without a good fight as he convincingly kills SonicFox's Robo Fortune with a Peacock damaging combo with the finishing blow being an Argus Agony. SonicFox doesn't want to give any glimmer of hope for SwiftFox-Dash and has his Eliza make quick work on SwiftFox-Dash's Peacock with little damage to his Eliza. In a tense 1 vs 1 between Eliza and Cerebella where both sides were trading blows with each other, but ultimately SonicFox capitalized on a key drop after a connected level three super by SwiftFox-Dash who was sitting on a ton of meter which shortly lead to a critical connected hit confirm by a near dead Eliza which was enough winning the match-set at a 3-0 victory and as a result became the Evo 2015 Skullgirls champion.

Thanks to MCZ for streaming top8 (archive here), OffCast for uploading the top 8 video, and you can also watch some pools footage here and here as well as some of the money matches that took place over the weekend here thanks to GuardBreak.
Also did you like this experimental match analysis that was created here to cover events? It's not too technical yet admittedly since this is the first one, but did you like the format/idea? Feel free to share any thoughts about this because any feedback will be taken into consideration by the staff for future reference thank you.
