Foils are generally premium card versions of the regular cards that have more steam value (Roughly $10 each). They have a much more rare drop rate compared to the commons counterpart. Basically you can craft a fancy foil badge if you have the whole set. AKA another way to have bragging rights towards your steam friends and give Gabe more of your money.
