In the first post of this thread the great KStep was kind enough to translate musical notes into attacks.
Have that at the ready.

~WHAM! WITH THE FIRST STEP WE GOTTEM IN THE TURNBUCKLE!

Next your gonna want to find sheet music of your favorite song. This aint always easy but give it your best shot. Can you dig it?

~LOOK AT THAT WITH STEP 2 YOUR GETTIN A BOOST OFF THE ROPES!

Finally, take out your note pad and translate the musical notes into attacks. If you can't read music you should be able to learn in just a few minutes on the interwebs. Just remember that if you "FACE" it head on then "Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge".
~NOW IT IS TIME TO MAKE THAT SWEET CHIN MUSIC!

YES YES YES YES!

Note: Some of these guys are mad crazy good and gettin it done just by ear.

Okay, but you might be missing a step (possibly). You may have to transpose it if what you're transcribing is in a different key from whatever you're playing. BB is playing a trumpet, which is a Bb instrument. Bb is one half step below C, so if that's the key from which you're plagiarizing, everything moves up a half step to compensate.

take advantage of lk+hk not being bound to any notes by using it to cancel ones that you are currently playing for a staccato-ish effect

Man, it's been close to three years since my last post in here. It's crazy how fast time whooshed past. Anyway, I just recently made the move away from playing on ps3 pad and decided to transpose / learn some new songs to celebrate!

It doesn't fit into the level 5 super very well, especially if you try to stick to the slower tempo. Just playing the first line will consistently finish early, but you could squeeze in the second if you play it a fair bit faster than the original.
