The beta is pretty much the alpha, as I'm sure you've found out. There are some balance fixes, some more story mission, and a new multiplayer map, but it's all the same.
I was a DMR guy in halo, so I'm Scout rifle all the way in Destiny. I tried switching to an Auto Rifle in smaller maps, but I ended up just doing better when I stuck to my Scout Rifle. I sparingly use a fusion rifle on small maps, too. I currently have gear that boosts my scout rifle ammo capacity and reload speed, so I'm a killin' machine. It's back on if you guys weren't aware.
I'd also like to discuss peoples favorite weapons so far. For the primary I've gotten to like the Scout Rifles. I've done better with them than I have with the other types. Haven't messed with the Special Weapons a lot. Mainly used the Shotgun and just started messing with the Fusion and Sniper Rifles. For Heavy Weapon I've started preferring the Rocket Launcher mainly because my Machine Gun was crap.
It was planned to end today, but recent bungie posts have made it clear they'll be doing something similar to the Alpha, extending it and doing weird stuff to the game/networking to test things out.
People keep hoping, but there's been no indication that anything will transfer over, save for the reward for playing yesterday at 2pm PDT. Bungie has never had anything more than a special banner or emblem cross over from a one of their betas, so there's precedent for a complete wipe.
Go on bungie.net and search for some oceanic clans, then send a bunch of friend invites with the clan name in it to let them know that's why you're adding them. I made about a dozen new friends just from people sending me requests like that.I dont know how to do missions cooperatively and have few to no online friends in australia that have ps4 (all my friends are american xbox players except for like 1) so leveling is a struggle and not so fun because this game really does seem to be geared towards coop (which is great because co-op halo 1 is probably some of the funnest times ive ever had with video games)
I don't find it tedious at all, but that's probably because I really enjoy playing in the crucible. RNG is certainly a factor, but gear isn't everything. I played a few matched with my babby secondaries (level 2 and 3) and did very well. It's mostly about how you pull the trigger, and no gear will save you where you wouldn't have saved yourself. In that sense, I like getting new gear, it's fun and exciting, but it's not stressful or, "too slow."

I agree they both have that problem, but Destiny actually has legs as a long-term game, with extensive co-op and gear grinding. We'll see if things are still kicking after Call of Duty 2014 drops. I hope so.So I've heard Destiny is good, but not THE GAME THAT WILL CHANGE VIDEO GAMES as the marketing officials want you to believe. Same thing happened with Titanfall where it was supposed to be the shooter that would change shooters forever and it came out and yeah, it was good, I had fun with it, but it wasn't anything extraordinary that we'd never seen before. I have a feeling we'll see a lot of that this generation.
That's me, homie.
I have the Ps4 copy as well ^_^
