Since the Two Best Friends had a thread, I thought it'd only be fair to make one for another other great group of internet commentators
You can watch all their shit here, just be warned, they upload at least three 10 minute videos every day, and as a result, have quite a lot if you wanna see ALL their stuff.
If you've never heard of them, Game Grumps is a set of videos where two people (Egoraptor/Arin (Of the Awesome series fame), and Danny Sexbang (From a band), fomerly also included Jontron), play through a game while talking and wittybantering. It's kind of like let's playing, but they don't like to call it that.
There's also Steam Train, with Danny and Rubberross, which covers PC games.
There's also Barry, the editor, and Suzy, Arin's wife.

All in all, they've got a big fanbase and a lot of funny videos, so I thought they deserved a thread. So. Chat away, either right now, how sad you were when Jon left, or if you prefer the old videos to the new ones!
 
Meh, I was happy when Jon left since I was an originally a JonTron fan. Plus it seems like Danny is a lot nicer to Arin.
 
Jon just seemed to be a slow descent into Jon smashing all of Arin's precious things.... the worst Dan has done is... make the cyborg 009 figures look provacative?

also, Dan is such a mellow guy. Arin seems a little more high stung so its sort of makes a much more happy balance.

Also, I love Ross.
 
Jon's reasons for leaving were just.
He felt that his comedy was in the writing and how off the walls he could be, and he wasn't as good at improv.
I do enjoy his time as a grump but Danny is better. All around

Danny makes me laugh a bit more. Jon made me laugh a lot harder

I really like Ross as well.

you know, its hard to say when Dan showed he was a step in the ri-oh hey! Big Zam.
 
also, danny is from Ninja Sex Party.

Also, you forgot to add in Ninja Brian. he's always there.
 
I do miss jon honestly, but danny for me is a great game grumps member and perfectly for me fills the void jon left X3
 
Don't forget, if Danny wouldn't have become not-so-grump, StarBomb might not have been a thing. The song previews they allowed have been limited, but they sound pretty funny.
 
I became a fan of the channel earlier this year and really liked the Arin+Jon dynamic, then I was surprised by the sudden departure of Jon and like many, was initially very wary of Danny. It was the Megaman 2 playthrough that made me warm up to the new pairing and I have to say that now, while I still think Jon's work was great, I do like Danny more. He seems to fit the not so grump a little better in my opinion and he's quickly come up with some memorable quotes, plus I enjoy his singing. Overall I would say the channel has only gotten better since Jon departed, Ross, Barry, and Suzy are now part of the group and they're all pretty damn great, especially on Steam Rolled which is easily my favorite new part of the channel.
Plus Jon is doing more of his show now and so far his new videos have been really enjoyable.
 
I watch them every now and than when they are playing a game I like.

I enjoyed Gradius III and Arcana Heart.

Watching them spend 2 and a half videos on stage 1 of They Bleed Pixels made me want to slam my head on the keyboard though. Holy hell.
 
I used to watch religiously towards the very beginning. I was probably one of the first couple thousand subscribers, and for the first month or two I watched every video (at the time that was a good 30-45 minutes of game grumps every day.) I was extremely sad to see Jon go, but it was really necessary- the show was getting stale. It wasn't the best way to freshen things up again, but it was a lot better than just continuing to do the same thing that they were doing. Danny is just kind of okay for me. He's consistently decent and occasionally cringe-worthy. He never has those moments of genius like Jon, but on a normal basis he's better since Jon could occasionally go an entire episode without saying anything funny. I've tried to watch steam train like 5 times, and they'll be playing something I really like, but it never really clicks... The 4 player ones are pretty good though.
I'm still waiting for the triumphant return of Jon to finish Sonic 06 though. If that never happens I am going to personally find and murder Arin.

Yeah there needs to be a Guest Grumps episode where Jon comes back to finish the atrocity that is Sonic '06. They made a promise god damnit.
 
A promise that doesn't look like it'll be kept, Arin and Danny answered a question as to whether Sonic 06 would be finished during their Reddit AMA and Arin said no. Said that there wasn't really much left to cover, that the game was almost finished anyways and that it wouldn't be the same.

Yep. Still as good as it was the first viewing

Still one of my favorite episodes, the physics in that game were beautiful.

I just wish they could read the damn tutorials once in a while, instead of just blaming the game for their own stupid mistakes.

don't you know that arin thinks tutorials are stupid and every game should just be simple and not use more than jump and shoot?
 
Game Grumps is no where near as good as it was when Jon was on the show. The comedy has never been the same without him. I miss Jon.....

Doesn't change the sketchy shit Arin has pulled. I have been a fan of egoraptor since watching Metal Gear Awesome 8 years ago, but the game grumps stuff was enough to make me dislike him. The 4chan AMA stuff and the God awful Zelda Sequelitis only cemented this.

Jon said he would never come back to grumps, as much as i would like this to happen. Jon and Danny would be a winning formula for me and they would play off each other so well.

But yeah Jon will never go back to game grumps. Whatever happened betweeen Jon and Arin+Barry probably made it that way.
