To help out all you new cats trying to get into the swing of things with your main man Big Band, @Jason has made a basics guide to get you going down the right track. Can you dig it?

The guide highlights Big Band's specials, supers, some important normals and includes combos. Anyone looking to pick up Skullgirls's newest addition should start here.

Fantastic video. a lot of attention to detail and goes over things i missed in my in-depth and stuff not a lot of people know about such as whiffing s.MK to get better range on your rush punch. that's genius! shout out to the creator.

Nice, I needed something to get the finishing touches on my Big Band and this here is just perfect. Now I know which things I do so far are actually reliable and I got some combo ideas.

Thanks for the video @Jason its very informative, didn´t know that BB Super lvl 1 its one of the fastest in the game, I shared with a few friends ( they are looking for maining BB) and they said that was very useful!

I really liked how you used the matching character themes.

Yeah, I also paired the Filia princess peach palette with King Deedeedee and Q palette with the Fukua sean palette.

Just a few little extra touches, goes a long way.

This is a really useful video. It's gonna make the jump into Big Band much easier. The combos are way better than the trash I was using.

Maybe you should submit this to SRK's front page news?

I'm sure with BB being new for a lot of people, videos like this would be in demand. Especially with the free PS+ offer starting in May.

I second this.

I dunno, it would feel weird to me submitting my own video but feel free to to so if you want.

I honestly don't know how submitting anything works there.

Yo so what's the key to landing the st.hk after the cr.lp and cr.mp they always seem to far away

You have to delay between each attack on your restand so after the beat extend you put a short pause between every hit.

s.lp (pause) > s.lp (pause) > s.mk > j.LK (pause) > j.mk

The idea is to try and make sure that you are hitting them on the ground during the last chain instead of juggling. If you do happened to end up juggling them by accident during a match (happens a lot) just do cr.LPx2 > cr.MPx2 > MP Brass and that will always work.

Ah! Was about to ask the same thing.
Been practicing the Intermediate combos and I always mess up the last bit, namely connecting s.HK...and when it does work, I tend to whiff the Super Sonic Jazz cancel if there's more than half a screen to that side.
Re-re-watching more attentively, I noticed the last chain is indeed a re-stand. I think the part where I am messing up is with j.LK and j.MK. I try to be as above of the opponent as possible as well as delay the attacks and move forward as much as I can but that doesn't seem to be the trick either.
Even if I am struggling with this and speak against myself, it's something I genuinely appreciate about Skullgirls - how each character and/or chain has a distinct feel to it instead of the nuanceless universal chain combos in other games.

As I said in the Big Band topic, a very useful as well as entertaining guide. Very deserving of being front page material.

Thanks man I will try that when I get the chance

Also, sometimes if you delay between the two hits of cr.LP and delay between the two hits of cr.MP that will also put them close enough to the ground.

With that said, the restand does take some practice to do consistently, but a lot of characters run into the same thing, especially Bella

Thanks man god know I was super lost why it wasn't hitting thanks means a lot

This guide = That moment when you hit the right notes in free form... AWESOME!!!!!!!!

Why is a video guide in the news section? Should this not be in the Big Band thread? Just sayin.

I already linked it in the main Big Band thread.

It is. We just lurk and post stuff that was posted in some other thread here. No one tags the mods or sends tips for articles.
