Maybe he could fail at trying to kill Mileena, I think she has more support from the troops and other generals.
There's no way that Mileena would be able to take Shao Kahn's place. Maybe in the only timeline, where Mileena was cunning and used her power as "Kitana" to plunge Outworld into a war with Earthrealm, sure.

But this new Mileena? This childlike psycho? Not a chance.

Same with Shujinko
Say what you will about Taven and Daegon, but I did like the concept of Daegon creating the Red Dragon Clan to search the realms for his brother.

Also, while Shujinko was a terrible character, I still think that he can be salvaged. Like, instead of the kamidogu shit, Shujinko should just've been Bo Rai Cho's best pupil and that's it. A super-strong old guy.

Just make him Pai Mei for fuck's sake.

Actually, they don't. I mean, it wouldn't be a good idea, but let's remember that Shujinko had nothing to do with Onaga's resurrection, just the gathering of the kamidogu themselves. Shujinjo could still very well be dicking around in the realms in the story of MK9.

Also keep in mind that Shujinko's ooooooold. He was trained by the first Sub-Zero (the current's great-grandfather). He fucking went to Edenia before it was merged with Outworld, which is over 10,000 years before the first game! Add to that all of the weird magical time-acceleration bullshit that went on with his quest. 10,000 years is a long time, and a lot of shit can happen in that time.

Let's not forget that Bo Rai Cho (who trained him) is a native of Outworld, so he's basically immortal. I mean, Bo Rai Cho lived long enough to look old, which is quite a feat. But I digress.

I honestly think that kamidogu shit can be salvaged. Granted, it will take a writing of such a caliber that I don't think exists in the world of video games, but it can be done.

I always thought the time shit in Deception was weird but now it's weirder.
Guess we'll see how they handle it.
Just as long as they do SOMETHING with all the neat concepts they barely touched.

It's quite a mess. It's almost like the success of MK1 took Midway by surprise and they just kept adding shit they thought was cool with no regards for continuity or gameplay.

Either way, hopefully we'll get some MK 10 news in the next few months.
Chances are it'll be for PS4 though

Yeah. PS4 seems to be the way to go this generation. Slightly disappointed, as the the only reason for me to get an Xbone is Killer Instinct, but if the rumors I've been hearing about what's gonna show up on PS4 are true, then I'll have to skip out on KI.

I dunno. Ignoring non-cannon endings, the overall MK continuity holds together pretty well.

I'm honestly not a fan of Bo Rai Cho and would have no objection to having Shujinko take over the "elderly mentor" role.

Agreed. i own both systems and i defnitely favor the ps4.
KI is great, but not worth the investment if all you want to do is play KI.

Not to be a shit, but why do people like Frost so much? Yeah, the ice-hair is cool. And yeah, R63 Subzero.
But the reason why people like her so much perplexes me.
 
I don't like her, she's kinda boring.
 
If Frost returns in Mortal Kombat 10, can she be a chick that isn't nearly naked? We could use some of that for a change.

I'm not against Frost returning. Hell, I'd welcome it.

It's just that she debuted in MKDA where she was presumably supposed to take on Sub-Zero's place, but there would never be an MK game without Subby, yeah? So she basically ended up as a bad Subz replacement with a ego problem and got killed off in the game she was introduced in.

Also she was strongest Lin Kuei and was able to make weapons out of ice, which was impossible for even our beloved Kuai Liang without the power of the dragon amulet. What is this, fan fiction?

That said, Frost (like every character MK4 onwards) has potential. I'd like to see her be even more egocentric. And who knows, maybe that dumb rivalry she had with Sonya will actually mean something this time around?
 
I still want Ermac to go on a rampage after he learns about Kitana's death.

Just let him become King Jerrod again!
