Holy crap the forums are going in flames over there.

Yeah that was a good move afterall. It's not like someone might have bought the game on steam during the sales.
Lucky me I didn't.

The blaming game seem to have been bought up, like people arguing if it was NRS's or WB's decision.

You'd think L0 would have raised the bar of FGs' PC ports for good.
 
The main difference in this case is that L0 made all the ports themselves, while WB/NRS outsourced the PC and last gen ports over to High Voltage

They really should've handled QC themselves instead of having another dev babysit the game
 
Now I'm kind of scared that the GGPO netcode switch would apply to XL only and not X

my guess is Cyber Sub is a hidden unlock. like yo gotta press some buttons while highlighted over Tri-Borg to get the Sub-Zero variant. Oh well. He seems to have the same basic moves as MK9 Cyber Sub so that's good. He has that "Drone" special, which was the thing that popped out of him in the video before he did an ice ball. So my guess is that the drone can act like a powerup for any of Cyber-Sub's ice specials. Because looking at the video that ice ball flew pretty dang quick, and there was the ex-ice ball which was the ice beam. hmmm... Cyber-Sub might be the composite variant where he has zoning and set up tools. Cyber-Smoke looks to be the rush down/ mixup variant with the smoke traps and smoke dash. Sektor is Sektor with the strong Zoning tools, and Cyrax is the same but with better set up tools with the low only ground bombs and the high only float bombs.

All in all this is nice. Tri... I'm sorry, Quad-Borg looks to be very open giving everyone a very clear and different playstyle for each variant.
 
Leather's winpose is the new best thing. He just runs around in circles swinging his chainsaw like a goof. Havin' the best time he can.

i remember a while back when Cyber Sub Zero was teased and NRS showed off him using a drone before using a ice ball attack. Well i was right on how the drone buff's all of his ice moves so that's a nice thing. What's even better is that Cyber-Sub is just like Robo-Fortune, that he can have three drones out at a time and he can use one to buff an ice move and make his zoning game much stronger.


(idk maybe it is a little nod to lab zero cause Ed Boon is aware of SkullGirls and stuff, who knows...)

Also SonicFox, i'm not sure if you are a big fan of Robo Kitty or not but if you are... well... Cyber-Sub [if he is allowed in tourneys] looks to be a really fun character to play with. That and Alien... holly cow does Alien look to be super strong in his assist form and acid form.
 
It feels great to play as Smoke again. I haven't played much yet, but this update is great, looking forward to trying online again. With the current state SFV is in, I am very interested to get back with MKX.
 
Holy shit the new XL online quality is actually decent. This is a big accomplishment for a NR game. Arguably even better then SFV's to boot. Too bad PC only players can't experience this.
 
Here's something the occurred to me recently: If you're only on Xbone, you can't enjoy SFV. If you're only on PS4, you can't enjoy KI Season 3. If you're only on PC, you can't enjoy MKXL.

Except for the fact that you get locked out of new content if you purchased the PC version of MKX for the same price as everyone else, it's actually kind of... morbidly fair. Or equally bad for all 3 games.

Good thing Skullgirls is basically on every relevant platform.

But back on topic, MKXL's online is really good. I can't wait to see Quitalities and faction wars actually become real things now! But that's not the only thing. It was after playing SFV when I realized how amazing it is to have just a simple arcade ladder in a game. It makes it so much easier to warm up a character before going online. (Which works out. I feel that you need to put in more work to make a MKX character online ready than it takes to get a SFV character online ready, so single player content really helps here). It's amazing what you take for granted until you play SFV.
 
Alright, I gotta ask this, because I saw a few comments regarding it in a video.
But like.

Am I the only one who feels terrible about doing fatalities on Leatherface?

I mean, the sounds he makes alone are legitimately really pitiful, but there's also a small fact and I'm not.
Trying to be PC or anything or trying to stir anything but.
It's the fact he's literally mentally retarded and a manchild.

Like. Even if it's a video game I wouldn't wanna do that.
I mean yeah, dudes a serial killer and has killed tons of people but thats only because his family is fucked up.
I dunno, this isn't like how I don't like doing fatalities on a majority of the cast because I like them (Or they're just likable and a lot of vmatch-ups wouldn't have a fatality done, family members especially)

This is just.
A different level.

Again, not trying to stir anything it's just something I keep thinking about that's weird.

Fuck all that though this easter egg will make you forgive everything about the PC version.

The little details found in this game are mind blowing. I will spend all night doing that brutality to see the results with other characters.
 
There are special Chestbursters for certain characters in the outro, but only a few.
But, there might be more for that Brutality, because Jason's outro Chestburster is the same, but different in that Brutality.
