Just a tread to talk about the Mortal Kombat lore.
MK is actually my favorite fighting game series new to Soul Calibur. I grew up with my and all held the series close to me as we both grew older.
MK10 sounds like it will be a 2D version of MK4-MKD, so it should be pretty interesting.

Anyways, discuss MK.
 
I'm happy my main is alive<3 sure she may be broken but #TEAMSONYA

Yes, and gas blasts. He's a big scum bag, but he's just such a dope character.
I think Cyrax is the most "Broken" though with this 88% resets and unblockables. ughhhhh

I'm also hoping that Frost will return in mk10. I hate how she an Tanya were in the backgrounds on two stages, but not playable -_-
 
Yea everyone thought Tanya was gonna be dlc
 
I'm quite a fan of Mortal Kombat myself, both games and story/universe. I remember early teenage years when with great hype I waited for the next episode of Mortal Kombat Conquest on Saturday evenings. Ahh, those were the days.


While I played the games since I was a wee lad, it was always against AI or casually playing friends so I never gotten any good at it. Which was not a problem, I always did and still do enjoy it all the same. That being said, while I didn't develop a main gameplay-wise, Quan Chi is my favourite of the bunch ever since I've first seen him on a Mortal Kombat 4 arcade machine.

Also the cyborgs in MK3. Man, I love their robotic sounds/"voices". I've had one of them as my SMS sound for years now.

I love the Cyborgs too, i really hope that in the next game they make a female cyborg. I wasnt too thrilled with cyber subzero, but he did look pretty cool.

I still play it to this day but competition for it has died, and with due reason. The game is shit.
 
It died because of injustice which was terrible and is OK now

Haha, i still jump on mk9 every once in a while, i wish NRS didnt abandon it so quickly.
 
I didn't even bother with Injustice knowing the greatness that NRS gave us beforehand.

But yeah I mean, I grew up with MK. I'm still going to play it regardless.

Agree, i hate Injustice when it first dropped, but now its pretty balanced and grown in hype.
 
The thing about Injustice is that I didn't care for any of the characters...

If Cammy wasn't in SF4 I wouldn't have bought the game.

Same thing for MK, I wouldn't have bought if Ermac wasn't in it (he was my favorite in UMK3)

But then I ended up not liking Ermac's design and just played Kitana and stuck with her.

At this point in the game, can you even play online anymore in MK?

Right, i understand that, i get really attached to characters too.
MK is kind of alive online, but mostly scrubby casuals on there haha.

I grew up on the 3D MKs (mostly Deception) and even now I still have fun with those games as well as MK9. Besides Kabal and Sonya, I used Ashara mostly when she was playable, mostly cause I loved using her Voodoo doll fatality and I liked her story about being about of the Brotherhood of Shadows but then the Kriss led her to misguided murderous justice.

Agrees, i like to see her return.

YES! She's an excellent new character. NRS definitely needs to elaborate on her.
I'm also hoping for Tremor to make it in.
 
Skarlet was the only DLC that I bought =) I actually feel like playing her now.
 
Agreed. I do play injustice, i like it, but i'm not thrilled on the idea of a sequel.
I would much rather have a new MK title be it MKX or even a non crapy sequel to MK vs DC, or my dream game, MK vs KI.
 
I hope Ermac will still be alive in the new game. and hopefully Raiden will get over his case of the dumb he had. (you gotta admit, the "he must win" thing could have been easily avoided. :P )

Ermac is still super cool and probably one of my favorite characters of all time in MK.
 
I want Taven and his brother who's name I can't remember.
 
It's gonna be all MK4+ characters.
Though, I heard Wild mass Guessing that Noob could come back as a good guy like Scorpion did when he was tossed into the Soulnado
 
So MK10 will mostly focus on MK Mythologies/MK4? That's fine. Lots of characters died in MK9 to make room in MK10 lol

However, the story has changed. For what we know, there is not going to be a Deadly Alliance, so we jump to the Onaga story arc after Shinnok's?

Which characters do you think will be present in MK10?
 
Probably everyone that wasn't in MK9. But I SWEAR if Movado shows up I'm gonna hurt someone.
 
Man, chip damage on normals is the greatest.
I have MK9 to thank for bringing me to the FGC, with its awesome characters, sounds, visuals, story, and variety of fun gameplay options.
Not everyone plays KUH-BAWL, Kenshi, Cyrax, Sonya, or Freddy. The game can still be awesome fun, especially with that mid-tier awesomeness.
Liu Kang, Ermac, Sub-Zero, Jax, Raiden are the characters I main if anyone cares to play against the greatest PSN ID ever: playakid700.

That's too much characters. I think they'll go Mythologies/MK4/Gold/Deadly Alliance. At least some of them.

That's deep inside the Onaga story arc. I think we are getting now into Shinnok's story arc, but I don't know how it might affect the next story arc because of some events from MK9 and what might happen during Shinnok's story.

If I'm not mistaken, the Onaga story arc starts when Quan Chi and Shang Tsung make their Alliance and kill Liu Kang. Then they find out that Shao Kahn is alive. And I get a bit lost, because Quan Chi and Shang Tsung want to seize control of the Dragon Army (Onaga's), but Onaga's spirit somehow leads Reptile to do some stuff that allows Onaga to return. And then Deception begins, when Quan Chi and Shang Tsung betray each other, Onaga arrives and starts killing everybody, so we see a lot of alliances and a fight against time to stop Armageddon.
 
I don't even know anymore... you kinda lost me. As long as Ashra's back then I'm cool with whatever.
